What makes the Nürburgring Asphalt 1 distinctive?
The defining feature is its dial: COBLOR says it is made from a 0.9 mm layer of hand-processed asphalt sourced from the Nürburgring’s Tiergarten section. The exact extraction date is unclear. COBLOR’s product page gives 18 November 2022, while its FAQ says 18 November 2021, so neither date should be treated as settled without clarification from the company.
The watch is limited to 500 pieces, with the edition number engraved on the case back alongside the reference. COBLOR says the rotor is shaped like the Nürburgring circuit and that a ruby marks the asphalt extraction location. The maker also says each watch comes with a certificate of authenticity from MAKADAMLABOR SCHWABEN.
The timing connection is built into the German price: COBLOR lists €6,111.30, a figure it links to Stefan Bellof’s 6:11.13 Nürburgring lap record from 1984. This is the maker’s German listing; the price may differ by country and VAT.

These are the manufacturer’s specifications, not independently measured results. WatchTime describes the display as a bicompax layout, with subsidiary seconds at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a central stop-seconds hand, luminous markers and hands, and the tachymeter scale on the ceramic bezel.
Availability and purchase terms
COBLOR’s English product page currently labels the Nürburgring Asphalt 1 “SOLD OUT.” The same page invites interested buyers to contact the company, which says it may be able to arrange individual pieces from reserved customer quotas. The FAQ says COBLOR watches are sold exclusively through the company. The stated 500-piece limit does not establish how many examples remain available, and no verified remaining-stock count or secondary-market valuation is available. Confirm availability and the applicable price directly with COBLOR.

COBLOR’s FAQ states a two-year warranty from delivery for manufacturing and material defects. It excludes normal wear, damage from improper use, and unauthorized repairs. The FAQ also describes a 14-day withdrawal period for already-produced watches purchased immediately, subject to conditions including the watch being unworn and returned with its protective film, complete packaging, and other required items. It says watches ordered during the pre-order phase cannot be returned under its stated terms. These are the manufacturer’s posted terms; check the current terms and their applicability in your jurisdiction before ordering.
The company says shipping is insured and tracked, with delivery time and cost depending on destination. It does not establish a universal current delivery estimate or shipping fee.

How the watch fits into COBLOR’s motorsport line
The ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie introduced the watch in a launch-era article dated 26 March 2022, identifying COBLOR as the series’ official timing partner and presenting the model to motorsport fans and watch enthusiasts. That provides launch context rather than an independent technical assessment.
COBLOR reports that the Nürburgring Asphalt 1 entered the Musée International d’Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds on 8 June 2023. The company’s account quotes Concepto’s Guillaume Tripet recalling his first meeting with COBLOR founder Nikolaos Radis: “When we first met him, we immediately had the feeling that this idea made an incredible amount of sense.” The museum inclusion and quotation are reported by COBLOR.

The Hockenheimring Asphalt 1 is a separate model, announced by the Hockenheimring in 2025. It uses asphalt from the circuit’s start/finish area, has a forged-carbon case, and is limited to 99 pieces. Those details do not change the Nürburgring model’s titanium construction, 500-piece edition, or sold-out status.

The central material and movement story is specific: asphalt attributed to a named part of the Nürburgring, paired with an automatic caliber developed with Concepto. However, COBLOR’s own pages conflict on the asphalt’s removal year. The manufacturer lists dimensions, water resistance, and power reserve, but no independent timing test, water-resistance test, or hands-on assessment is established here. Treat the specifications as maker claims and the current availability as something to verify with COBLOR.
