Crafter Blue now marks this reference discontinued, so its original specifications are clearer than its present availability or market value.
Which Hyperion Ocean Chronograph is this?
HOCSS001.P.R is the black-dial 2021 Hyperion Ocean Chronograph discussed here. Crafter Blue’s official product page marks this exact reference as discontinued. That status should not be generalized to every Hyperion Ocean Chronograph colorway or later release. Crafter Blue’s HOCSS001.P.R listing identifies the watch and its specifications.
Crafter Blue’s article dated September 23, 2021 describes the watch as a new addition and discusses two variations. Fratello Watches had published its hands-on review on July 8, 2021, earlier that year. Crafter Blue’s 2021 article provides the launch context.

These are the manufacturer’s published specifications, not the result of an independent water-resistance test. The 200 m rating alone does not establish suitability for a particular dive procedure.

Movement and reviewer observations
Crafter Blue lists the Seiko NE86. Fratello’s reviewer says they opened the watch and identified a Seiko SII NE86A automatic chronograph, consistent with the listed movement family. The review describes the start, stop and reset action as precise and reports no central chronograph-hand jerk when starting the chronograph. Those are observations from one review, not a guarantee of how every example will perform. Read Fratello’s July 8, 2021 hands-on review.
How large does it wear?
The case measures 42 mm across, 16.90 mm thick and 20 mm between the lugs. Fratello independently reports measurements of 42 × 16.9 mm and a 20 mm lug width, and describes the case as thick in proportion to its diameter. The thickness is therefore worth considering if you prefer a watch that sits low beneath a cuff.

What did it cost, and what does it cost now?
Fratello reported that Crafter Blue quoted US$1,299 in 2021 for the rubber-strap version. That is a historical price, not a current retail price or an estimate of resale value. Current inventory and asking prices have not been established, so check the exact reference, seller, condition and included strap or bracelet when evaluating an offer.

The 200 m HOCSS001.P.R chronograph is not the same watch as the Hyperion Ocean HOSS001B.B. The latter is a separate 45 mm, 600 m model with a Sellita SW200 movement. Similar names do not make their specifications interchangeable.

Crafter Blue’s later Arctic Blue chronograph is also a distinct variant with its own dial and bracelet details. When comparing one with the 2021 reference, confirm the precise reference and configuration rather than assuming later-variant specifications apply to HOCSS001.P.R. What to check before buying a used example
- Confirm that the reference is HOCSS001.P.R and check the dial and configuration against the listing.
- Ask for clear photographs and details of the case, crystal, bezel, crown, chronograph operation and any service history.
- Verify the seller’s stated condition, included accessories, return terms and current asking price independently.
- If replacing the strap, treat 20 mm as the lug-width measurement only; it does not by itself verify a particular strap’s fit or compatibility.
