The anniversary Prospex collection also included two other diver references, so the model number matters.
Which Seiko 140th Anniversary Prospex diver is this?
Seiko’s 2021 anniversary Prospex pages list three diver models: SLA047/SLA047J1, SPB207/SPB207J1 and SSC807/SSC807J1. SLA047 is the clearest match for the singular “Prospex Diver’s Watch” title because Seiko’s main diver description on the collection page focuses on this green-dial, 300 m model. The suffix difference reflects the regional product pages: the US page calls it SLA047, while the UK page uses SLA047J1. Seiko US: SLA047; Seiko UK: SLA047J1.
What are the SLA047’s specifications?
Seiko documents the SLA047 as a stainless-steel diver with a green dial and water resistance up to 300 m. Its movement is caliber 8L35, which Seiko says was developed specifically for diver’s watches and assembled by hand at Shizukuishi Watch Studio.

How limited was the SLA047?
Seiko Watch Corporation stated a production limit of 3,000 pieces for the SLA047/SLA047J1. Its regional launch pages differ on planned availability: the US page gives April 2021, while the UK page gives March 2021. These are the respective regional page details, not evidence of current stock. US launch page; UK launch page.
The launch pages establish the edition size and planned timing, but not present-day availability, current price, resale premium or investment value. A listing should be checked for the exact reference, location, condition and stock rather than treated as proof that every SLA047 listing is equivalent.

How does SLA047 compare with the other anniversary divers?
The other two models in Seiko’s 140th-anniversary Prospex trio have different movements, ratings and edition sizes. Do not transfer SLA047’s 300 m rating or 8L35 caliber to them.

What is the anniversary design meant to evoke?
Seiko frames the green anniversary series around the deep-green scenery of Iriomote Island, including its coral reefs and mangrove forests. The editions mark 140 years since founder Kintaro Hattori established the company in 1881. Seiko’s page associates Hattori’s vision with the phrase “Always one step ahead of the rest”; it presents that wording as part of its account of his outlook, not as a dated speech or interview quotation.
