The Czapek Antarctique GMT Milano Edition is a 30-piece, three-hand special edition created with Milan retailer GMT Great Masters of Time. Despite “GMT” in its name, it does not track a second time zone: the watch displays hours, minutes and seconds. Presented in October 2024 around Milano Watch Week, it stands out for a textured, 4N gold-colored dial.
What is the Antarctique GMT Milano Edition?
It is a retailer collaboration built on Czapek’s Antarctique, distinguished chiefly by its dial treatment. Czapek presented the edition in October 2024 in connection with Milano Watch Week. Production is limited to 30 watches, according to Fratello’s October 2024 report.
Here, “GMT” is part of the retailer’s name, GMT Great Masters of Time, also known as GMT Milano. It does not describe a watch complication. Fratello lists the functions as hours, minutes and seconds, with no second-time-zone display.
How is the gold-colored dial made?
Czapek developed the dial with Metalem, its long-time dial-making partner. The center has a grainy, stamped matte texture; the area near the minute track has circular satin finishing. Both surfaces receive galvanic 4N gold plating, according to Czapek’s announcement. The result is a warm gold-colored dial rather than a change to the Antarctique’s basic three-hand layout.

Czapek says this hue has become associated with GMT Milano’s exclusive editions and reflects the retailer’s heritage. There is no date window, keeping the dial visually uncluttered.
Case, bracelet and dimensions
The stainless-steel case measures 40.5mm across. Fratello reports dimensions of 40.5mm in diameter, 45mm lug-to-lug and 10.6mm thick, along with 12 ATM (120m) water resistance. Those measurements offer a useful fit reference, though wrist comfort also depends on wrist shape and the integrated bracelet’s fit.
The case combines brushed surfaces with a narrow polished bezel. The integrated steel bracelet has brushed main links and polished intermediate links. Fratello’s launch coverage also mentions dial-matched calfskin or rubber straps as options; that is launch reporting, not confirmation that those straps are currently available.
Movement and functions
The watch uses Czapek’s automatic SXH5 calibre with a micro-rotor. Fratello reports 193 components, 28 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour and a 60-hour power reserve for this edition. Its functions are hours, minutes and seconds.

Czapek describes the SXH5 as its first movement conceived entirely in-house. The architecture includes seven skeletonised bridges, an off-center micro-rotor and a free-sprung balance, as outlined on the Antarctique collection page. The movement’s specifications do not add a GMT hand or second-time-zone function.

The edition is limited to 30 pieces. GMT Italia’s product listing currently labels it “Sold out” and provides enquiry or notification options: GMT Italia. That listing does not establish whether an individual watch is available on the secondary market.
