Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Verdict: The D21 is best treated as an old, basic fitness bracelet—not a supported modern smartwatch or dependable health monitor. It may be worth using if you already own one and can still pair it, or as a low-cost vintage gadget with a return option. Avoid buying it for accurate heart-rate data, verified swimming use, or guaranteed compatibility with a current phone.
The surviving review, published April 18, 2016, describes a Bluetooth 4.0 band with step, sleep and heart-rate features, plus call and message reminders. Those are review-era claims; the review does not establish how well the sensors performed, and the D21’s exact companion app and current support are unconfirmed.
What is the D21?
The D21 was marketed as a “smart bracelet watch,” but its described functions fit a basic fitness band rather than a full smartwatch. The 2016 review lists a pedometer, heart-rate readings, sleep monitoring, calorie and distance estimates, sedentary reminders, vibration alarms, and call and message alerts. It does not describe phone calls, SMS replies, GPS, downloadable apps, or a substantial smartwatch operating system.
Bluetooth 4.0 is the version reported by that review. The D21 name may also be used for rebranded or lookalike hardware, so a unit found today is not necessarily identical to the device described in the article.

It is recommended to replace the strap once every 6 months or 300 times after washing.
D21 specifications: what the 2016 review reports
| Item | Reported detail | What that does—and does not—establish |
|---|---|---|
| Wireless connection | Bluetooth 4.0 | A review-era specification; it does not prove compatibility with current phones or apps. |
| Weight | Approximately 30 g | Reported by the 2016 review, not a measurement of every surviving or rebranded unit. |
| Display | OLED | The review describes an OLED status display. |
| Materials and colors | Silicone band, stainless-steel case; black, pink, purple and white options | These are the design details listed in the review; the condition and materials of a particular listing need checking. |
| Battery | 80 mAh polymer battery | A reported capacity, not a measurement of a battery in a device made around 2015–2016. |
| Battery life | 3–4 days of standby | A review-era standby claim, not an active-use test with notifications, display use or heart-rate readings. |
| Charging time | About 60 minutes | A reported figure; the available description does not identify the charging connector. |
| Water resistance | Described as waterproof | No IP rating, test standard, depth limit or swimming restriction is supplied. |
| Functions | Heart rate, steps, sleep, distance and calorie estimates, alerts | Advertised or reviewed features, not independently validated measurements. |
All of these specifications come from the 2016 D21 review. It also awards the band 8.8/10, but does not explain a scoring method; treat that as the reviewer’s opinion, not a reproducible benchmark.
How useful are the tracking features?
Heart-rate readings
The review calls the D21 a heart-rate monitor, but does not provide a sensor specification, sampling method, accuracy test or comparison with a validated reference. It is therefore not possible to establish whether readings are on-demand spot measurements or repeated measurements over time, or how often any repeated readings occur.
Wrist optical readings are estimates. Fit, movement, skin contact, temperature, sweat and tattoos can affect them, particularly during exercise. A loose or aged band may make readings less dependable. Do not use the D21 to diagnose an arrhythmia, assess chest pain, adjust medication or replace clinical monitoring. If a reading is concerning, use an appropriate validated device or contact a clinician.

- COMPATIBLE with SPORTS WATCHES - Works well with most BLE / ANT+ sports watches, and provides more accurate heart rate data to you.
Steps, distance and calories
The review lists step counting, distance and calorie functions but gives no accuracy methodology. Step counts can be affected by arm movement, cycling, driving, pushing a stroller or wearing the band loosely. Without evidence of built-in GPS—which the review does not report—distance is likely to depend on estimates rather than a GPS track. Calories are calculated estimates, not direct measurements of energy use.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSleep tracking
A wrist movement-based sleep feature can mistake quiet wakefulness for sleep and may miss brief awakenings. The review does not document sleep-stage validation. “Sleep monitoring” should not be read as sleep-apnea analysis or medical sleep assessment.
Design, comfort and waterproofing
The review describes a roughly 30 g device with a silicone band, stainless-steel case and OLED display, offered in black, pink, purple and white. Those details suggest a lightweight, simple band, but the condition of a surviving unit matters more than its original description: inspect the strap, case, display, charging contacts and any signs of corrosion or cracking.

GEOID HS500 provides low energy, stronger algorithms and longer communication distance
- Versatility: HS500 Heart rate wake-up time less than 1 second; Weight with packaging: 56g; IP67 waterproof; a new generation of thinner and more energy-saving heart rate sensors can accurately track your movement, quickly and clearly reflect the body's state during exercise, and avoid excessive exercise on the body cause some damages. Such as cycling, fitness, football, running, etc. Swimming is not recommended
- ANT Plus and Bluetooth Compatible: GEOID HS500 heart rate sensor can connect to your smartphone, tablet, sports watch, bike computer, treadmill and other fitness equipment. ANT Plus: Wahoo, IGPSPORT, Bryton, Black Bird. Bluetooth: Zwift, Onelap, Strava, Kinomap, Wahoo Fitness, TrainerRoad, Rouvy, Fulgaz, Nike Run Club, Openrider. Please connect to Bluetooth through the app you are using. Do not connect directly to the phone's Bluetooth
- Battery Life: Lasts 800 hours, 1 hour a day, 4 times a week, 2.5 years working time. CR2032 battery can be replaced, lower energy consumption technology
The review calls the D21 waterproof and says it could be worn swimming, but supplies no recognized IP rating, test standard or depth limit. That is not enough evidence to recommend swimming with it. Aged seals, cracks and worn charging contacts can further reduce water resistance, and the available material does not establish suitability for pool chemicals, hot showers or diving.
Battery and charging on a surviving D21
The 2016 review reports an 80 mAh polymer battery, 3–4 days of standby and a charging time of about 60 minutes. Standby is not active-use runtime, and those figures are not current battery tests. A battery manufactured around 2015–2016 may now hold much less charge or fail altogether. The review does not identify the connector, so do not assume a charger type from a different D21 listing; confirm that the charging hardware matches your unit.
Stop using and charging the band if its battery swells, becomes unusually hot, smells strange or pushes against the casing. Do not force a connector that does not fit or leave a suspect battery charging unattended.

App support and phone compatibility
The exact official D21 companion app is not confirmed. Some generic Bluetooth bracelets use FitPro, but that does not establish that every D21-branded unit works with FitPro. FitPro’s download page lists Android 6.0, iOS 12.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 or later, while its store listings vary by region and version. These are FitPro’s stated requirements, not proof of D21 compatibility. Check the exact app identified by your own packaging or device before installing it:
- FitPro download page
- FitPro listing on the US Apple App Store
- FitPro listing on the GM Apple App Store
The broad phone-compatibility language in the 2016 review should not be applied to 2026 iOS or Android versions. Even if the bracelet powers on, an unavailable, outdated or incompatible app can prevent pairing, syncing or notifications. Notification delivery also depends on the phone’s operating system, app permissions, notification access and background-operation settings.
How to try pairing it
The D21’s official manual is not established, so these are general steps for an older Bluetooth fitness band, not verified D21-specific instructions:

- Charge the bracelet with its original or known-compatible charger and check that it powers on.
- Identify the exact companion app from the device’s packaging or QR code. Search for it directly in the Apple App Store or Google Play; avoid APKs from unknown sites.
- Check the app’s developer, recent update date, privacy policy, permissions and user reviews before granting access.
- Enable Bluetooth and grant only the permissions needed to pair, sync activity or deliver the notifications you want.
- If the app has a device-search screen, pair from inside that app unless its instructions specifically say to pair in the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Keep the band close to the phone. Once connected, check whether the time and steps sync, then send one test notification if that feature is available.
Do not enter sensitive health details in an app with unclear ownership. Be cautious if it requests contacts, SMS, microphone or location access that is not clearly needed for the function you are using.
If pairing or notifications fail
- Charge the band, restart it, toggle Bluetooth off and on, then force-close and reopen the companion app.
- Remove an old D21 entry from the phone’s saved Bluetooth devices, then try the app’s device-search process again.
- Review and, if needed, regrant Bluetooth and notification permissions. On phones that offer background or battery-optimization controls, check whether the system is stopping the app.
- Try a second compatible phone if one is available. This can help distinguish a phone or permission problem from a failing band or discontinued app.
- Reset the bracelet only if a reset procedure is documented for that exact unit. Do not assume a universal button sequence or factory-reset it before checking whether its app or account can restore data.
- If the app has disappeared from its app store, treat that as a likely end-of-support problem, not merely a pairing glitch.
Call and message notifications
The D21 review reports call and message reminders, not call answering or SMS replies. Notification alerts require a working app connection and appropriate phone permissions; success on one old phone does not guarantee delivery on a current phone. If the basic device and step display work but alerts do not, app availability, permission settings, background restrictions or operating-system compatibility may be the issue.
Is the D21 still worth buying?
There is no clearly identifiable maintained manufacturer support channel, authoritative manual, dependable current retail listing or confirmed D21 app ecosystem in the available evidence. A supplier page lists a D21-style bracelet at a historical wholesale price of US$16–20, but that is not a current US consumer price or evidence of stock, warranty or returns. The supplier listing is best understood as marketplace-style evidence, not an endorsed purchase route.
For an existing owner, the D21 may still be useful for rough steps or vibration reminders if the battery is safe and the app still works. For a new purchase, an unsupported band is a poor choice if you depend on syncing, notifications, reliable sensors, replacement parts or a return policy.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Consider it only if: you already own one, want a simple novelty device, or are buying a clearly identified unit cheaply with a way to return it.
- Avoid it if: you need medically dependable heart-rate readings, GPS or workout analytics, verified swim protection, guaranteed phone notifications, clear privacy terms, ongoing updates or warranty support.
If dependable setup and ongoing app support matter more than the lowest possible cost, a better-supported band is the safer choice. For example, Garmin documents pairing compatible vívosmart devices through Garmin Connect rather than the phone’s ordinary Bluetooth settings, and publishes app compatibility guidance: vívosmart setup instructions and Garmin Connect compatibility information. That documentation does not make every Garmin model right for every buyer, but it illustrates the support trail the D21 lacks.
Quick Recap
Check an old D21 before relying on it
- Does it charge and hold power without unusual heat, swelling or odor?
- Does the display work, and are the band, case and charging contacts intact?
- Can you identify the exact companion app from the unit’s own packaging or QR code?
- Can that app still be installed from an official store and pair with your phone?
- Do steps sync and do the specific notifications you need arrive reliably?
- If buying, can the seller identify the exact hardware and offer a return option?
