What is the Daniel Roth Tourbillon Rose Gold?
DAAD01A1 is a high-end mechanical wristwatch introduced in 2024 as part of Daniel Roth’s revival. LVMH says the brand was founded in 1988 and revived in 2023 with the support of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, beginning with a tourbillon—a complication closely associated with the brand’s history. The revival’s first tourbillon calibre, DR001, was developed by master watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini. LVMH’s Daniel Roth profile describes the brand and revival.
The Rose Gold followed the 2023 Tourbillon Souscription. Fratello’s August 31, 2024 launch report called it the first watch in the new permanent collection. That is a description made at launch; it does not establish the model’s current collection status.
What makes the design distinctive?
Double-ellipse case
The case uses Daniel Roth’s recognizable double-ellipse form rather than a conventional round outline. The launch report specifies 18K rose gold and dimensions of 35.5 mm wide, 38.6 mm lug-to-lug and 9.2 mm thick. Those proportions give a useful sense of scale, but fit on the wrist still depends on wrist shape and personal preference.

Rose-gold guilloché dial
The dial is also reported as 18K rose gold, with pinstripe guilloché that creates fine linear texture across the surface. Applied sterling-silver chapters and scales provide contrast against the warm dial. The restrained color palette makes the dial and case feel deliberately unified, while the tourbillon opening supplies the principal visual focal point.
Strap and caseback
Fratello reports a brown calfskin strap with an 18K rose-gold buckle. The watch has a sapphire crystal and a screw-in 18K rose-gold caseback with a sapphire display window. The combination lets the wearer see both the dial-side tourbillon and the movement through the back.

How does the DR001 movement work?
The DR001 is a manual-winding movement. Its 60-second tourbillon carries the small-seconds indication, so the watch displays hours and minutes alongside seconds through the rotating tourbillon assembly. The movement specifications in Fratello’s 2024 report are:

What did it cost, and how limited was production?
Fratello reported a launch price of CHF 155,000 excluding taxes on August 31, 2024. This is a dated launch figure, not a verified current retail price; no current price or inventory is established here.
Fratello also reported annual production of 50 pieces, with numbering continuing from 21 after the 20 Tourbillon Souscription watches. Europa Star’s September 2024 coverage likewise described limited annual production of 50 tourbillons. These are launch-era production statements, not confirmation of a current schedule or remaining availability. LVMH’s brand profile, accessed in 2026, also identifies the 20-piece Souscription edition.

Is this the same as the Daniel Roth Extra Plat Rose Gold?
No. The Extra Plat Rose Gold is a different model with a different design proposition and the DR002 calibre. Its thinner case and specifications should not be applied to the Tourbillon Rose Gold. Daniel Roth’s official Extra Plat Rose Gold page identifies that separate watch.
Who is the Tourbillon Rose Gold for?
Its strongest appeal is to someone seeking a compactly proportioned, precious-metal dress watch whose visual character is as important as its complication. The double-ellipse case and pink-on-pink guilloché treatment make it more distinctive than a conventional round gold watch, while the manual DR001 and visible tourbillon put the movement at the center of the experience. The launch price and scarce production figures place it in an exceptional collector category; whether its proportions, ornate dial and tourbillon are compelling is ultimately a matter of taste.
