The De Rijke & Co. Capri keeps the compact outline of a rectangular dress watch but softens it with a curved sapphire crystal, curved dial edges and case sides that flow into a concealed lug structure. That “space-age smoothness” is a visual impression, not a technical specification. The Capri is the Dutch brand’s first dress watch, offered in three limited dial variants with distinct displays.
What makes the Capri different?
On a conventional rectangular dress watch, the case, crystal and strap attachment tend to read as separate elements. The Capri’s defining idea is continuity: its curved sapphire crystal, curved dial edge, case sides and hidden lug structure are designed to form one flowing shape. De Rijke & Co. says the crystal’s inspiration includes bowed glass in vintage shopfronts, architecture and mid-century design. Founder and designer Laurens De Rijke described the project as a chance to focus on aesthetics and forms after the more function-led Amalfi: “With the Capri, it was an excuse to really just focus on aesthetics instead of function.” (Worn & Wound interview)
The brand positions it for formal occasions, but the design is less about adding complications than about making the familiar rectangular silhouette feel sculptural. It is an alternative to established rectangular references such as the Cartier Tank or Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, not a claim to their heritage, functions or market standing.

Each dial has a different visual emphasis: Onyx Black and Aventurine keep attention on the restrained surface and time display, while Capri Blue adds markers and a small-seconds register. How does the Capri wear, and what are its specifications?
The stainless-steel case measures 28.5 mm wide, 38 mm long and 6.5 mm thick. Those compact dimensions and the curved profile support a dress-watch presentation without a thick case. The crystal is curved sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both sides. These are measured specifications; they do not by themselves establish how the watch will fit a particular wrist.

The 3 ATM rating should be treated as splash resistance, not as confirmation that the watch is suitable for swimming. The brand describes the calf-leather strap as integrated with the case; its 24 mm case-end width alone does not prove that a generic replacement strap will fit. Check the attachment design with the manufacturer before ordering a substitute. Specialist coverage reports a 50-hour power reserve. The movement frequency is not included here because published reports conflict: Fratello’s prose gives 21,600 vph while its specification table gives 28,800 vph; Monochrome reports 21,600 vph. How does it compare with a classic rectangular dress watch?
The Capri’s distinction is principally its treatment of form, rather than a claim to outperform familiar rectangular watches on heritage or function. Its curved crystal and edges are central to its identity; its small-seconds option also gives buyers a display choice beyond the simpler hours-and-minutes variants.
- Form: The Capri emphasizes a continuous, sculpted profile and concealed lug structure instead of a more visibly segmented case-and-strap relationship.
- Dial: Onyx Black and Aventurine favor a sparse, stone-textured look; Capri Blue uses applied markers and small seconds.
- Scale: Its specified 28.5 × 38 × 6.5 mm dimensions make it a compact, thin option on paper.
- Strap: The integrated design means compatibility should be checked rather than inferred from the 24 mm case-end width.
- Position: Cartier Tank and Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso are familiar established references; the Capri is a distinctive alternative, not an equivalent in history or function. (Hodinkee)
Is the De Rijke & Co. Capri still available?
De Rijke & Co.’s product page lists a price of €2,195 excluding VAT and other taxes, and currently marks the listed versions sold out. The same page says a new series is expected in October 2026. That is an expected release, not confirmation that the next series is already available; check the official Capri listing for current stock and release updates.
