The DELMA Oceanmaster Lume pairs a fully luminous dial with hands and indexes that Monochrome Watches reviewer Denis Peshkov says remain easy to distinguish after a few hours in complete darkness. That is a useful qualitative observation, not a measured brightness test or proof of legibility in every sailing condition.
How legible is the Oceanmaster Lume at night?
The key design choice is that the dial glows too—not only the hands and hour markers. DELMA specifies a full-lume Super-LumiNova dial, BGW9 on the applied indexes, and SLN C1 on the hour and minute hands. Monochrome’s review describes the hands and indexes as glowing more brightly in a different hue from the dial, creating contrast against the luminous background.
After a few hours in complete darkness, Peshkov reports, “The hands remain dominant even after a few hours of complete darkness, exactly the behaviour you want when you come off a night tack.” He also found the luminous tip of the central seconds hand easy to pick up. These are observations from the review sample, rather than results from a controlled or timed test.
DELMA’s product page and the review give no measured brightness, lume-decay curve, charging protocol, or controlled comparison. They do not establish how the watch performs under red chart lighting, in spray, or in a particular cockpit. The evidence supports a specific claim—one reviewer found the hands distinguishable against the glowing dial after hours in darkness—not an all-night or all-conditions guarantee.

What the sailing features do
DELMA describes the Oceanmaster Lume as a sailing watch, with a stainless-steel nautical bezel and a tactical planner. Monochrome explains how the bezel and dial can be used together to relate course, wind direction, and points of sail. They are watch-based aids for a sailing workflow, not replacements for navigation equipment or situational judgment.
Specifications and a case-size discrepancy
DELMA’s blue product listing identifies the watch as SKU 41701.670.6.199 and gives these specifications. The independent review agrees on the thickness and lug-to-lug length but reports a different case diameter.

| Case diameter | 41 mm, according to DELMA’s blue product page; 44 mm, according to Monochrome’s October 29, 2025 review. The sources conflict. |
| Case height | 13.8 mm, stated by DELMA and Monochrome Watches. |
| Lug-to-lug | 51 mm, stated by DELMA and Monochrome Watches. |
| Lug width | 24 mm, according to DELMA. |
| Movement and reserve | Sellita SW200-1 automatic; 41-hour power reserve, according to DELMA. |
| Movement frequency and jewels | 28,800 A/h and 26 jewels, according to DELMA. |
| Water resistance | 500 m / 1,650 ft / 50 ATM, according to DELMA. |
| Other listed construction | Stainless-steel bracelet, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and unidirectional nautical bezel, according to DELMA. |
The published diameter figures cannot be reconciled from these sources, so a buyer should not treat either one as a settled measurement. The 51 mm lug-to-lug figure is consistent, but wrist fit also depends on case shape and how the bracelet articulates.

In its August 28, 2025 launch article, DELMA says the full-lume dial debuted in partnership with Oliver Heer Ocean Racing and accompanied skipper Oliver Heer during the 2024 Vendée Globe. This is the brand’s account of the watch’s history, not independent verification of its night performance during the race.
