Its dial looks like a restrained three-hand watch, but the central seconds hand is the chronograph: it times up to 60 seconds, while a perimeter scale converts travel time over a known distance into average speed. The specifications below are published by Angelus; they are not a substitute for independent wear or performance testing.
What is the Indianapolis Blue?
Angelus places the watch in its La Fabrique collection. The blue model is reference 0CHBS.U01A.V010S, one of several dial variants in the Instrument de Vitesse family. Angelus describes the design as a contemporary expression of its historical instrument-watch and chronograph language; that is the brand’s positioning, not independently established provenance for this particular design.
The Indianapolis Blue was announced alongside the Silverstone Grey on October 16, 2024. Angelus says each edition is limited to 25 pieces. The official product page lists the blue watch as limited to 25 pieces.
How does the chronograph and tachymeter work?
A single pusher integrated into the crown operates the monopusher chronograph. Pressing it starts the slender central seconds hand, which completes a timed revolution over a maximum interval of 60 seconds. There are no chronograph sub-counters. In operation, the display is therefore a one-minute timing instrument, not a conventional chronograph that records longer intervals on subsidiary dials.

The outer track is a tachymeter graduated from 60 to 500 km/h, calibrated on a base distance of 1,000 metres—typically one kilometre. Time a known base distance, then read the corresponding average speed on the scale. The scale does not measure speed on its own: the distance must be known, and the timed interval must fit within the chronograph’s 60-second window.
Angelus separates the display into two functional zones: an outer tachymeter scale and an inner minutes circle for the regular time display. That arrangement accounts for the uncluttered appearance while keeping the chronograph’s short timing interval central.

A5000 movement: what Angelus specifies
The manually wound A5000 calibre is listed with a 42-hour power reserve, a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and 23 jewels. Angelus specifies a column wheel and horizontal clutch, and credits its sister company, Manufacture La Joux-Perret, with producing the movement. These are manufacturer-published specifications; no independent accuracy or performance test is established here.
Case, crystal and strap
- Case: stainless steel, 39 mm in diameter and 9.27 mm thick.
- Crystal: domed sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
- Caseback: sapphire display back with anti-reflective coating.
- Water resistance: 3 bar (30 metres/100 feet). Angelus publishes this rating, but it is not a swimming or diving recommendation.
- Strap: dark blue nubuck calfskin with a stainless-steel pin buckle.
Indianapolis Blue price and availability
Published prices differ by date and market and should not be treated as a guaranteed current price. Swisswatches Magazine reported CHF 17,200 on October 27, 2024. Feldmar Watch Co.’s U.S. listing showed $22,000 when observed in October 2026 and directed shoppers to inquire by phone rather than offering online purchase. These are separate market-specific reports, not directly comparable quotes.

Angelus’s announcement identifies the Indianapolis and Silverstone editions as 25-piece releases, while its product page links to grey, ivory and black variants. The sources establish differences in color and reference, but do not establish that one version performs better than another.

For a practical comparison with other chronographs, the useful questions are whether timing is read from a central hand or subdials, how long the chronograph can run, what distance the tachymeter assumes, and how case dimensions, winding, reserve, water-resistance rating and local price differ. The evidence cited here does not support a broader performance ranking.
