What is the Dior VIII Montaigne Tissage Précieux?
Tissage Précieux means “precious weaving,” and the watch’s defining feature is its dial: a textile-inspired motif rendered with gold thread and diamond detailing. BURO. connected the 2017 edition with Dior’s 70th anniversary and described three patterns: Cannage, herringbone and houndstooth.

The name sits within the wider Dior VIII collection, rather than identifying a separate movement or a single dial pattern. LVMH’s 2011 annual report describes Dior VIII as a collection designed that year, with daytime, cocktail and Grand Bal expressions drawing on Dior design codes, ceramic and a pyramid form inspired by the Maison’s architecture and canework. A catalogue overview also links the VIII to Christian Dior’s lucky number, the house’s founding on 8 October 1946, its first collection named “En Huit,” and Paris’s VIIIe arrondissement.

Reported variants and specifications
The available descriptions give a broad picture, not a complete technical specification. BURO. reports the 36 mm pink-gold cases, diamond-set bezels, gold-thread motifs and edition size. Luxatic separately describes an 18K pink-gold case, an automatic movement visible through a transparent caseback and a herringbone fabric strap. Neither account supplies enough information to identify a caliber or power reserve for the exact variants.

For the cases, BURO.’s 2017 report gives 36 mm and polished pink gold, while Luxatic describes 18K pink gold. These are secondary accounts, not a primary Dior specification sheet. The sources do not give individual reference numbers or establish technical differences among the three motifs.
Movement, caseback and strap
Luxatic’s 2017 description says the watch has an automatic movement visible through a transparent caseback and a herringbone fabric strap. It does not identify the caliber or its power reserve. The evidence also does not establish water resistance, exact strap dimensions or whether the same strap description applies to every dial variant.

Do not assume specifications from another Dior VIII model apply to Tissage Précieux. The available accounts do not provide a verified reference-specific technical sheet, so details such as caliber, reserve and water resistance remain unconfirmed.
Edition size, availability and buying checks
BURO. reported eight examples of each pattern in 2017. That figure describes the reported production run; it does not show how many are available now, what they sell for, or whether any particular watch is authentic. No current stock, resale-price data, authorized service terms or compatible replacement strap were established by the sources.

If considering a particular example, ask a qualified watch specialist to verify the exact reference and assess the watch itself. Useful checks include:
- Whether its reference and case details match documentation for that specific variant.
- Authenticity and condition of the case, bezel, dial, movement and caseback.
- Service history and any available records for prior repairs.
