To use connected features, pair the watch through the Garmin Connect app and make sure your phone meets Garmin’s current app requirements. Some messaging controls differ between platforms, and Garmin does not guarantee trouble-free Bluetooth behavior on every phone model.
Which phones meet Garmin’s requirements?
Garmin’s current Garmin Connect requirements list iOS 18 or later for iPhone and Android 9 or later for Android devices. Android phones must include native Google Play support; installing the Play Store separately does not guarantee compatibility. Android Go edition is not supported. Check Garmin Connect’s current compatibility requirements, since app and operating-system requirements can change.

Garmin also identifies some phone models that did not pass its internal tests and may require continued Bluetooth troubleshooting. That qualification matters: support for the iPhone and Android platforms does not establish that every handset, OS build, or Bluetooth configuration will work reliably.

How do you pair the Enduro 4?
- Install and open Garmin Connect on your compatible phone, then follow the app’s setup flow.
- When prompted, accept the pairing request on the watch.
- Use the phone to scan the QR code shown by the watch and finish setup in Garmin Connect.
Do not start by pairing only from the phone’s Bluetooth settings. Garmin’s Enduro 4 manual says: “To use the connected features on your watch, you must pair it directly through the Garmin Connect™ app, instead of from the Bluetooth® settings on your phone.” See the Enduro 4 pairing instructions.

What differs between iPhone and Android?
Garmin describes smart notifications for both platforms, but it does not list all messaging actions as equivalent. Its Enduro 4 specifications identify text responses and rejecting a phone call with a text as Android-only features.

What does the phone connection enable?
When paired, the watch can show emails, texts, and alerts. Garmin Connect also provides a route for watch software updates: Garmin says a Garmin Connect account and compatible paired phone are required to update through the app, which sends available updates to the watch after syncing. Consult the Enduro 4 owner’s manual for setup and connected-feature details.

- Confirm the phone meets Garmin Connect’s current iOS or Android requirements.
- On Android, check that Google Play is supported natively and that the phone is not running Android Go.
- Pair through Garmin Connect rather than relying on a pairing made only in Bluetooth settings.
- If the handset is among Garmin’s models that did not pass internal tests, follow Garmin’s Bluetooth troubleshooting guidance; compatibility is not guaranteed for every model.
Garmin announced the Enduro 4 on October 7, 2026. Because app requirements and handset-specific behavior can change, use Garmin’s live requirements page when checking a particular phone.
