The Edox Delfin Mecano Automatic is a 43 mm automatic watch whose openworked dial reveals parts of its movement. For reference 85303-3M-VNRO, Edox specifies a 42-hour power reserve, sapphire crystal and 200 m / 20 ATM water resistance. Those are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent wear or water test; the exact reference matters because the Delfin Mecano comes in several dial and strap or bracelet configurations.
What the Edox Delfin Mecano Automatic is
The Delfin Mecano Automatic combines the Delfin name with a skeletonised dial: instead of a solid face covering the movement, cutouts make selected mechanical components visible. Edox Japan lists reference 85303-3M-VNRO with an automatic EDOX 853 calibre. The manufacturer gives that reference a 42-hour power reserve, so it is an automatic mechanical watch, not a quartz model. Edox Japan’s official listing identifies its steel-bracelet configuration.
How the skeleton dial looks and works
Edox describes the openings as a contemporary take on the hourglass emblem associated with the brand. The cutwork exposes movement components while retaining enough dial coverage that the wearer’s skin does not show through, according to the Japanese product page. Kamine names visible elements including the balance, escapement wheel, lever and barrel. This is an exposed view of parts of the movement, rather than an entirely transparent dial. Kamine’s Delfin Mecano page also describes a skeleton caseback, giving a second view into the watch.
Size, materials and stated specifications
For 85303-3M-VNRO, Edox Japan lists a 43 mm case diameter and 12.5 mm thickness, along with a 316L stainless-steel case with brushed finishing. The dimensions are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements. Edox also specifies an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and water resistance of 200 m / 20 ATM. That rating is a published specification; it does not by itself establish suitability for a particular dive or substitute for checking the watch’s condition and applicable guidance.

Variants: check the reference before comparing
Delfin Mecano is a family of configurations, not one universal colorway or bracelet. Kamine lists four references—85303-357RN-NRN, 85303-357GN-NGN, 85303-3NM-NBG and 85303-3M-BUIGB—with both rubber-strap and steel-bracelet designs represented. Edox Watch North America lists 85303-357GNM-NGN as a black-and-gold dial on a steel bracelet. These listings establish that configurations differ, but do not establish that every specification or price is shared across them. Check the full reference and retailer description for the dial, case treatment and fastening option you are considering. Kamine and Edox Watch North America identify the listed variants.
Price depends on market and reference
When accessed in 2026, Edox Japan displayed ¥385,000 for 85303-3M-VNRO. Kamine displayed ¥313,500 for its listed variants, while Edox Watch North America displayed CAD $3,251 for the different black-and-gold 85303-357GNM-NGN. These are regional listing prices for different references and sellers, not like-for-like price comparisons; retail prices can change. Check the current local listing and exact reference before buying.

What the Delfin name adds
The design combines an openworked display with details associated with the Delfin line. Kamine describes a 12-sided bezel and presents the collection’s heritage in connection with Edox’s double O-ring water-resistance design; this is the retailer’s account of the brand history. In a 14 November 2022 introduction, Denis Peshkov of Monochrome Watches reports that the original Delfin appeared in 1961, a dodecagonal-bezel version followed in 1973, and the Mecano skeletonised line used the 2020 day-date automatic model as its platform. Monochrome’s 2022 account provides that historical framing.

The specification-led case for the Delfin Mecano is clear: it offers an automatic movement with a view of selected components, a stated 42-hour reserve and, on the cited 85303-3M-VNRO, a 43 mm steel case with a 200 m / 20 ATM rating. Whether it suits you depends particularly on wrist fit and whether you enjoy a visually busy openworked dial. A 43 mm case may feel substantial; if possible, try the exact configuration on before buying.
