Can you buy the GoldenBoy or commission a similar watch?
Fratello’s 2022 article calls the GoldenBoy a “pièce unique” and says it is not available to buy. That is a specific historical report, not a current sales notice. Micromilspec’s custom-project inquiry is a possible place to ask about a project: the company says it develops custom watches in close collaboration with military units and select organizations. Its public homepage does not establish whether individual buyers are eligible, whether a GoldenBoy-style commission is possible, or what the terms and price would be.
Other Micromilspec watches should not be treated as ready-made GoldenBoy substitutes. The Voyageur is a separate limited-run watch, while the Golden Knight is tied to the U.S. Army Parachute Team and has restricted eligibility or invitation terms. Is the Breitling Chronomat GMT the same watch?
