In a 2021 hands-on comparison, Fratello’s Tomas Rosputinsky preferred the Bradfield’s distinctive dial overall, though he liked one detail of the Morgan’s layout better. This is a historical comparison, not a current availability or buying recommendation.
What is the difference between the Farer Bradfield and Morgan?
Farer’s earlier pilot-watch pair uses the same case and handset, according to Tomas Rosputinsky’s January 20, 2021 Fratello review. The main distinction is the dial: the Bradfield uses a white-to-off-white field with prominent Arabic numerals and dark navy and sky-blue accents; the Morgan has a black dial, a recessed central area and a less vivid palette.

The figures come from different sources and are not a controlled side-by-side test. The Bradfield movement is identified as SW200-1; the Morgan listing specifies the Elaboré version, so those labels should not be treated as identical evidence about finishing or performance.
How do their dials look and read?
Bradfield: conspicuous contrast
Rosputinsky called the Bradfield vivacious. Its pale dial, dark and blue accents, and luminous details create a more graphic, modern interpretation of a pilot watch. He found the luminous display particularly striking after dark. That is his visual impression, not a measured brightness or legibility test.

Morgan: a more familiar pilot-watch look
The Morgan’s black dial and subtler colors make it look closer to a traditional military or pilot-watch design in the reviewer’s view. Its recessed center and reversed track arrangement distinguish it from the Bradfield without changing the shared case and handset.
What did the hands-on review prefer?
Rosputinsky chose the Bradfield overall because he felt the Morgan did not move far enough beyond familiar pilot-watch reinterpretations. He also found the Bradfield’s dial more distinctive and vivid. His verdict is one reviewer’s preference, not an objective ranking.

He did prefer the Morgan’s minute-track arrangement on a specific point: he found the Bradfield’s inner stepped minute ring and the hour-hand tip did not relate logically. That criticism did not outweigh the Bradfield’s overall appeal to him.
On straps, the reviewer found the Bradfield’s blue perforated leather strap more pleasant to wear than the Morgan’s slightly stiff brown strap. This reflects his experience with the examples he handled, not a general durability or comfort test.

How big does the Bradfield wear?
Fratello’s 2021 Bradfield specifications give a 39.5 mm case diameter, 45 mm lug-to-lug, and 42.5 mm pin-to-pin. The listed depth is 11.5 mm, or 12.5 mm including the domed sapphire crystal. The case is 316L stainless steel, with a domed sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating inside and out.
Rosputinsky wore and observed the Bradfield for three weeks and said the broad-looking dial made it feel larger than its nominal 39.5 mm diameter suggested. That is a subjective wrist impression; the listed dimensions provide the more useful starting point for judging fit. The retrieved Bradfield specifications do not state lug width, so do not infer strap compatibility from the Morgan’s listing.

Bradfield
- Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement.
- Approximately 38 hours of power reserve, as listed by Fratello in 2021.
- 5 ATM water resistance, as listed by Fratello in 2021.
- Fratello describes an inner soft-iron Faraday cage in the pilot watches as providing magnetic protection up to 500 Gauss and lists the Bradfield as having an anti-magnetic cage.
Morgan
- Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré, with approximately 41 hours’ reserve, according to Farer’s Morgan product listing.
- 50 m / 5 ATM water resistance and a 39.5 mm diameter with 45 mm lug-to-lug, according to that listing.
- Farer specifies a soft-iron cage rated up to 500 Gauss on that listing.
These are model specifications, not independent test results. The Morgan listing also gives a 20 mm lug width, but that value should not be transferred to the Bradfield without a separate specification.

The Morgan page’s retrieved “Sold out” label is a page-state snapshot and may be out of date; it does not prove present availability. The €865 price in the Fratello review was the Bradfield’s review-era price in 2021, not a current price. Farer’s present-day Pilot Series II collection is a later, redesigned range, and its specifications should not be mistaken for those of the Bradfield or Morgan.
How does Farer Pilot Series II compare?
Farer describes Pilot Series II as a distinctively original blend of classic elements and modern colors. The current collection page lists three dial designs and gives these Series II specifications:
- 40 mm grade 2 titanium case, 43 mm lug length and 10.9 mm depth.
- 100 m water resistance.
- Sellita SW300-1 Elaboré movement with a 56-hour power reserve.
- Internal soft-iron cage rated to 500 Gauss.
Those are Series II specifications only. They are not updated specifications for the older Bradfield and Morgan.
