The Favre-Leuba Raider Sea Sky Chronograph combines a mechanical chronograph with a one-way elapsed-time bezel and a reported 200 m water-resistance rating. It is also a large watch: Monochrome Watches reported a 44 mm case diameter and 15.7 mm height in its 2018 hands-on coverage. Those figures, and the operation and care guidance below, apply to the Raider Sea Sky—not Favre-Leuba’s later Sea Sky Chronograph.
What kind of watch is the Raider Sea Sky?
The Raider Sea Sky is a sports chronograph built around two timing tools: a chronograph operated by pushers and a unidirectional bezel with a 60-minute scale. Monochrome’s 2018 hands-on account describes this as a land-and-sea instrument combination: use the chronograph to time an event, or the bezel to track elapsed minutes at a glance. It is not simply a conventional diver with a stopwatch added.
Keep the model name precise. Favre-Leuba’s 2024 press material describes a later Sea Sky Chronograph with a 40 mm case, La Joux-Perret L112 movement, 60-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. Those are specifications for that newer line, not the Raider Sea Sky discussed here. Favre-Leuba’s 2024 press material should be consulted for the newer model’s details.
How large is it on the wrist?
Monochrome Watches reported the Raider Sea Sky at 44 mm in diameter and 15.7 mm thick in 2018. Its hands-on coverage characterized the watch as substantial and prominent on the wrist; a separate 2019 hands-on article also described its large, cushion- or barrel-shaped sports-watch form. If you prefer compact or low-profile watches, try this one on before choosing a strap or configuration.

There is a reference-specific discrepancy worth noting: a Tata CLiQ Luxury listing surfaced a Raider Sea Sky reference, 00.10103.08.13.20, with a 46 mm case. That retailer listing is market-specific and may change; it does not match the 44 mm dimensions Monochrome reported for the versions it covered. Confirm the exact reference and measurements with the seller before relying on that listing.

What movement is in it?
Monochrome Watches reported an automatic movement based on Valjoux 7753 architecture, with date, chronograph and a 48-hour power reserve. The manufacturer’s manual says wrist movement winds the watch and states that a fully wound movement runs for at least 48 hours. The 48-hour figure is a reported specification, not a guarantee of identical running time in every condition.

How to use the chronograph and bezel
Time an event with the chronograph
- Press the upper pusher, identified as button A in the manual, to start the chronograph.
- Press button A again to stop it. Read elapsed seconds from the central chronograph seconds hand and elapsed minutes and hours from the counters.
- After stopping, press the lower pusher, button B, to reset the chronograph.
The manual says the chronograph can measure events up to 12 hours. Do not press either chronograph button underwater.
Track elapsed minutes with the bezel
- Turn the bezel counterclockwise only, aligning its zero mark with the minute hand at the start of the interval.
- Read the minute hand against the bezel scale to see how many minutes have elapsed.
The bezel is a separate elapsed-time aid; it does not replace the chronograph counters.

Winding, setting and caring for the watch
- After extended non-use: The manual instructs the owner to unscrew the crown, wind approximately 40 turns clockwise, then screw the crown back in.
- Date adjustment: Avoid quick date adjustment from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., as specified in the manual.
- Water exposure: The manufacturer says to rinse the watch with fresh water after contact with seawater or chlorinated water and to lock the crown carefully.
- Water-resistance checks: The manual recommends an annual check, and a check after unusual stress, opening or service. It explains that the meter rating reflects pressure-test conditions and does not correspond directly to actual dive depth.
- Controls in water: The manufacturer explicitly says not to operate the chronograph buttons or crown underwater.
The 200 m figure comes from published model coverage; the cautions above are the manufacturer’s instructions, not independent testing of this watch underwater. For repairs, the manual recommends official Favre-Leuba service channels.
What did it cost, and is it available now?
Published prices are historical, not current offers. Monochrome Watches reported CHF 4,300 to CHF 4,800 in 2018 depending on configuration. Its 2019 coverage of orange and yellow dial versions—references 00.10103.08.15 and 00.10103.08.16—reported CHF 3,300 on rubber, CHF 3,400 on leather and CHF 3,800 on steel. These dated figures should not be used as present-day prices. Current stock and pricing are unconfirmed; check a seller’s listing directly and verify the reference, condition and included strap or bracelet.

Who should consider the Raider Sea Sky?
Its appeal is the combination of mechanical chronograph timing and a simple one-way bezel, along with a distinctive cushion/barrel-shaped case. The main practical trade-off is its size and height: the dimensions reported for the covered versions make wrist presence part of the decision, not a minor detail. For a comparison with another chronograph or diver-style watch, check case dimensions, water-resistance guidance and control use in water, movement and serviceability, bezel function, configuration, and verified current price rather than relying on a broad category label.
