You can join the watch community without owning a watch, spending money, or knowing the difference between a tourbillon and a balance spring. Start with the kind of connection you want—casual conversation, specialist advice, horological history, hands-on learning, or in-person events—then choose a local meetup, online group, open club event, or collector association that fits.
Choose the kind of watch community you want
Watch communities take local, online, and hybrid forms. Some are built around conversation and shared enthusiasm; others offer specialist knowledge, research resources, workshops, or events. Before joining, decide what you hope to get from the experience.
- Conversation: Try a casual meetup or an active online discussion space.
- Specialist advice: Look for a community focused on the watch type or brand you want to learn about, and check its rules and recent discussions.
- History and research: An association with a library, publications, or educational programming may be a better fit than a social group.
- Hands-on learning: Search for workshops or educational events, and check what participants can actually do or observe.
- In-person events: Look for an open club event, local gathering, museum visit, talk, or show.
You do not need to buy a watch to participate. Curiosity and a willingness to listen or ask questions are enough to get started.
Where to find watch enthusiasts
Search for a local meetup
Search meetup listings for watch groups, collector meetups, coffee gatherings, horology clubs, or watch fairs. Meetup’s Watches directory is one place to look, but group listings and activity change. Check when the group last met, whether new people are welcome, and when its next event is scheduled before making plans.

Try an open club event

Join an online discussion space

In one Reddit discussion about where people talk watches beyond Reddit, commenters named Watchuseek, WatchCrunch, Rolex forums, Omega Forums, Discord, and YouTube comments. These are examples shared by individual users, not a current directory or an independent assessment of quality. Activity and moderation can change, so read recent threads and community rules before relying on a group for advice.
Explore a collector association
The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) is a route for people interested in watches and clocks, including vintage pieces, repair, research, and horological history. Its pages describe an online forum, research library, events and conventions, a publication, workshops, and educational programming. See its membership information for current benefits, eligibility, and costs.

Know the difference between a club and a show
The Watch Collectors’ Club describes a watch club as a place where people meet to discuss and share their interest, through online conversation and in-person events. It distinguishes that from subscription businesses that send watches and from fairs or shows oriented more toward viewing, buying, or trading merchandise. That is the organization’s own explanation, not a universal definition: individual clubs and events may differ, so check what a particular organizer says its activities are for.
