| Case and bracelet | Stainless steel; the regional page specifies 316L steel. |

| Case measurements | See the market-specific listings below; Alpina’s pages do not present thickness consistently. |
These are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified performance results.
Case dimensions: check the market-specific listing
Alpina’s US product copy calls the case 41 mm and describes a three-part brushed and polished steel case. Its technical table gives a 42.5 mm case length and 11.5 mm thickness. The regional listing for silver reference AL-730SB4AE6B gives dimensions of 41 × 42.50 mm and a height of 14.3 mm. Those thickness or height figures do not match, so they should not be combined into a single definitive measurement.

The regional page also lists a 16 mm strap-lock width and a 180 mm bracelet dimension. These refer to different measurements; the 180 mm figure is not the strap-lock width. If case height or bracelet fit is important, confirm the relevant measurement with Alpina for the exact reference and market before comparing it with another watch.
Dial and caseback design
Alpina describes a raised triangular motif on the dial, luminous hands, and three contrasting counters. The watch also has an integrated steel bracelet and a sapphire display caseback that shows the movement. The silver and navy options share the listed specification set; the choice is primarily a matter of dial preference and how much contrast you want between the dial and counters.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Alpina Alpiner Extreme Chronograph worth buying?
That depends on how its specifications and fit compare with your priorities. Before buying, weigh these points:
Rank #4
- The Alpiner Extreme Regulator Automatic is the perfect rugged sport watch. Separate display of the hours, minutes and seconds, set inside a heavy-duty 41mm case with see-through back, and able to withstand extreme conditions.
- Dark grey dial with triangle pattern, navy outer ring with white markers. Navy blue hour counter at 10 o'clock, hand-polished silver color hour and minute hands.
- Navy blue second counter at 6 o'clock.
- Silver color second hand.
- Navy blue rubber strap.
- Dial preference: Choose between the silver AL-730SB4AE6B and navy AL-730NS4AE6B, and consider whether the contrasting counters suit your taste.
- Wrist fit: Do not rely on a single case-height figure without confirming it for your region. The US and regional pages differ, and bracelet fit is separate from case dimensions.
- Functions and reserve: Alpina lists a chronograph, date, and 62-hour power reserve. Whether those features suit your use is a personal trade-off, not evidence of superior performance.
- Water resistance: Alpina specifies 100 m, also expressed as 10 ATM on its regional technical page. This is a manufacturer rating; consult Alpina’s guidance for the activities you plan to do.
- Price and availability: The US listing showed $3,395 for either dial at the time of review. Check the current price and stock in your market before deciding.
For a reliable comparison, confirm the exact reference, current regional price, and case measurements with the seller. The listed specifications make the watch’s feature set clear, but they do not substitute for trying it on or obtaining independent performance testing.
