The Angelus Instrument de Vitesse Indianapolis and Silverstone are limited-edition, hand-wound chronographs built around an unusual layout: one central chronograph seconds hand and an outer tachymeter scale, with no subdials. Indianapolis has a blue dial; Silverstone has a grey one. Each is limited to 25 watches, according to Angelus’s October 2024 launch announcement.
What distinguishes the Indianapolis and Silverstone editions?
The difference established by Angelus’s launch material is chiefly color, not function. Indianapolis pairs a blue dial with a tone-on-tone nubuck strap; Silverstone pairs a domed grey dial with a mouse-grey nubuck calfskin strap. Both use stainless-steel cases and the same one-minute monopusher chronograph arrangement.
| Edition | Dial and strap | Reference | Edition size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indianapolis | Blue dial; tone-on-tone nubuck strap, per Angelus’s October 2024 launch announcement | 0CHBS.U01A.V010S, as reported in Angelus launch material | 25 pieces, per Angelus’s October 2024 launch announcement |
| Silverstone | Domed grey dial; mouse-grey nubuck calfskin strap, per Angelus’s official product listing | 0CHBS.G01A.V010S, confirmed by Angelus’s official Silverstone listing | 25 pieces, per Angelus’s official product listing |
The sources describe no functional distinction between the colorways. Angelus places the Instrument de Vitesse in its La Fabrique collection, which reinterprets historical Angelus classics, and evokes vintage English and Italian car dashboards in its collection material. That supports a vintage-car-inspired reading of the design, but not a claim that either edition directly recreates a particular historical watch.
How does the crown-mounted pusher work?
The single chronograph pusher is integrated into the crown. It operates the central seconds hand to time up to 60 seconds; the watch has no chronograph sub-counters. This is a short-duration timing instrument rather than a conventional multi-register chronograph.

How do you read the tachymeter to estimate average speed?
The printed peripheral scale is a base-1000 tachymeter graduated from 60 to 500 km/h. Its base distance is 1,000 metres, commonly treated as one kilometre. To estimate average speed over that known distance, start the chronograph as you pass the starting point and stop it after covering the kilometre. Read the central seconds hand against the outer scale: the indicated value is the average speed in kilometres per hour for that distance and elapsed time.

For example, if the kilometre takes 30 seconds, the hand aligns with 120 km/h on a scale calibrated for a 1,000-metre distance. The watch is timing elapsed time and using a printed scale; it is not electronically measuring speed. Angelus presents it for short bursts of timing, with the chronograph limited to 60 seconds.
What are the case dimensions and water-resistance rating?
Angelus specifies a stainless-steel case measuring 39 mm across and 9.27 mm thick, with water resistance rated at 3 bar (30 metres). That rating is a stated specification; the product information cited here does not give activity-specific advice for swimming or diving.
