Its automatic Calibre 728 adds a flyback chronograph, while the 42 mm case, 100 m water resistance and 60-hour power reserve make this more than a material refresh. Breguet announced the model on 16 September 2024.
What is new about the gold-and-ceramic Type XX?
The principal change is material and color. The 2067 pairs an 18k rose-gold case with a graduated, bidirectional rose-gold bezel that has a blue ceramic ring and gold 12-hour scale. Breguet says ceramic was used in its collections for the first time on this gold Type XX. The blue ring and dial give the watch a markedly different appearance from the steel fourth-generation models, while the layout remains that of the civilian three-counter Type XX.
The sunburst-blue dial has applied gold Arabic numerals, luminous gold-coloured syringe hands and a date. Its three counters are arranged as follows:
- 3 o’clock: 15-minute chronograph totalizer.
- 6 o’clock: 12-hour chronograph totalizer.
- 9 o’clock: running seconds.
The case measures 42 mm in diameter and 14.1 mm thick. It has a sapphire crystal on the front and a display back through which the movement can be seen; stated water resistance is 100 m.

Type XX or Type 20: which version is this?
This is the civilian Type XX, not the military-inspired Type 20. Breguet uses Roman numerals for the civilian line and Arabic numerals for the military-inspired one. In the fourth generation introduced in 2023, the civilian 2067 has three counters and a date; the military 2057 has two counters. Those distinctions describe the respective designs, not a claim that the 2067 is a military-issued watch.
Breguet’s account traces the Type XX to wrist chronographs sought by air forces in the early 1950s and places the collection in the context of the company’s aviation history. Monochrome Watches reports that Breguet made three solid-gold Type XX prototypes in 1955, one now in the Breguet Museum collection; that small historical run provides a precedent for the modern gold version.

How does the Calibre 728 flyback chronograph work?
Calibre 728 is an automatic, integrated chronograph movement developed within Breguet’s manufacture. It uses a column wheel and vertical clutch, with silicon components in its regulating and escapement system. Breguet says it was released in 2023 after four years of development. The manufacturer specifies a 5 Hz frequency and a 60-hour power reserve; these are stated specifications, not independent test results. Monochrome lists 39 jewels and 350 components.
Flyback is useful when timing successive intervals. With a conventional chronograph, the operator must stop the chronograph, reset it, then start it again. With flyback, one press resets the running chronograph and immediately begins a new timing interval. The 2067’s other functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and 15-minute and 12-hour chronograph totalizers.
