The result is an unusually thin, long-reserve mechanical watch whose openworked construction is as central to its appeal as its dimensions.
What is the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days in black DLC titanium?
Reference 104121 is Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days with a black DLC-coated titanium case, openworked dial and black rubber strap. It measures 40 mm across and 5.95 mm thick, according to Bulgari’s US product page. The slim profile is especially striking alongside a faceted, octagonal case: this is a mechanical watch built around a complex-looking exposed movement without a correspondingly bulky case.
The black coating visually blends the case’s stepped surfaces into a darker whole. On the dial, black PVD skeletonized bridges continue that restrained palette, while rose gold-plated hands and indexes stand out against it. Bulgari also fits an 18 kt rose gold crown with a black ceramic insert. The transparent caseback offers another view of the movement.
How does the openworked dial read?
The movement is visible through the dial rather than hidden beneath a conventional solid face. Bulgari specifies central hours and minutes, a small-seconds counter and a power-reserve indicator. Time and Watches describes the layout as including a large 12, small seconds between 7 and 8 o’clock, and a gauge-like reserve display; those are the publication’s observations from its review, not Bulgari’s formal description.

Monochrome says the rose-gold details improve contrast compared with the monochromatic titanium version. That is a visual assessment, not a measured legibility result. In practical terms, the hands and markers supply distinct points of color against the dark openworked background, while much of the movement remains visible around them.
What is the power reserve on the Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days?
Bulgari specifies 192 hours, or eight days, of power reserve for the manually wound BVL 199 SK caliber. That is the manufacturer’s stated figure, also reported by Monochrome; it is not presented as an independently tested result. The caliber is 2.50 mm thick and beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). Monochrome additionally lists 33 jewels and describes the movement as 36.6 mm in diameter.
The long reserve means the watch is specified to keep running for eight days after a full wind, subject to actual use and operating conditions. A reserve display on the dial lets the wearer monitor the remaining power rather than infer it from elapsed time.

Case, strap and water resistance
The titanium case has black DLC coating, and Bulgari lists a black rubber bracelet with a black DLC-coated titanium pin buckle. Monochrome describes sapphire crystals at the front and caseback. Time and Watches notes 58 facets and a sandblasted finish in its hands-on review. These details reinforce the contrast between a sharply structured case and the more technical, exposed movement.

Bulgari rates the watch water-resistant to 30 metres. That rating should not be read as an endorsement for swimming: Time and Watches characterizes the watch as suitable for occasional splashes but not swimming. Its slender construction and openworked design are not a reason to treat the stated rating as a practical swimming recommendation.

Prices depend on market and tax basis. Bulgari’s US product page listed the watch at US$26,300 excluding taxes when accessed on October 8, 2026, with store-finding and appointment options. Monochrome listed €28,000 in its August 2025 first look. Time and Watches reported a suggested retail price of €28,000 including VAT or US$25,400 excluding sales taxes in its August 2025 review. These regional figures are not directly interchangeable or a single worldwide price.

Where this black version sits in the Skeleton 8 Days line
Monochrome reports that the Skeleton 8 Days appeared in rose gold in 2022, returned to a titanium look in 2023, and was then given the black DLC titanium and rose-gold treatment seen here. Reference 104121’s defining departure is therefore not a different movement specification, but a darker exterior and a more pronounced color contrast than the monochromatic titanium look.

That makes the choice primarily one of finish and styling: the black version emphasizes the angular case and frames the exposed movement in a dark palette, with warm accents at the hands, indexes and crown. The available descriptions do not establish that it wears or performs better than another version.
