The Chronomètre FB 3SPC.4 is a five-piece sandblasted-titanium edition created by Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud with ART IN TIME for the gallery’s fifth anniversary. Its white dial and movement are paired with blue accents, and each watch was supplied with three interchangeable straps. It is distinct from the black ceramised titanium FB 3SPC.4-1 now shown on the brand’s product page.
What makes the FB 3SPC.4 a special edition?
Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud announced the FB 3SPC.4 on 19 September 2024 as a five-watch series made with Monaco gallery ART IN TIME to mark the gallery’s fifth anniversary. The manufacturer’s announcement describes the case as sandblasted titanium and the movement as white-rhodium-plated and finely sandblasted.
The white dial uses blue numerals and a blue minute track. Against that restrained palette, the manufacturer says, the gear train and the escapement with its cylindrical balance-spring stand out. On the caseback, each watch is engraved “Art in Time”, “5th Anniversary” and “One of Five.” Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud’s 2024 announcement gives the edition details.
What comes with the watch?
The FB 3SPC.4 was presented with three interchangeable straps: blue rubber, blue alligator leather and grey alligator leather. Each is paired with a sandblasted titanium pin buckle. ART IN TIME gallery director Yohann Martinez described the light case, rubber strap and exclusive colours as bringing a modern touch to a collection known for its traditional approach to chronometry.

How does the FB 3SPC.4 differ from the FB 3SPC.4-1?
The suffix matters: the five-piece anniversary watch is the FB 3SPC.4, while the manufacturer’s current product page is for the separate FB 3SPC.4-1. Their confirmed distinctions are:

Do not assume that the .4-1’s movement finishing, dimensions or other technical details apply to the anniversary .4. The two references share a collection name, but the available official descriptions are not interchangeable.

The .4-1 page also specifies a black-rhodium-treated nickel silver movement, black-varnished brass hour/minute ring and seconds subdial, and 18-carat white-gold hands. Through its side porthole, the balance wheel, pallet-lever and escape wheel are visible. Those are documented details of the .4-1, not confirmed finishing details for the anniversary .4.

Price and availability
The manufacturer’s .4-1 page provides an acquisition enquiry rather than a public price or delivery date. The 2024 announcement establishes that the FB 3SPC.4 was made as a five-piece edition, but does not establish whether one is currently available or what it might cost. Contact the brand or ART IN TIME for current information rather than treating the announcement as a present-day availability listing.

In its 2024 announcement, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud said the FB 3 collection received the Chronometry Prize at the 2023 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. The brand also described the collection as powered by a mechanical movement with a cylindrical balance-spring certified by COSC. These are claims made by the manufacturer in that announcement.
