Ferdinand Berthoud introduced four platinum-cased Chronomètre FB 3SPC editions in March 2025: salmon-pink and black movement treatments, each offered in a standard and diamond-set version. The main distinction is visual; the underlying hand-wound calibre and core layout are shared. The launch announcement marked the manufacture’s tenth anniversary.
Four references, two movement treatments
The March 2025 launch comprises two standard references, each limited to 20 pieces, and two diamond-set references, each limited to five pieces. Monochrome Watches gives the four-reference list below; the official product page styles the black standard reference with a space as FB 3SPC.3-1.

The standard editions differ in movement color and hand material rather than in the stated movement architecture. Choosing between pink and black is therefore a matter of taste, not a documented performance distinction.
What the diamond-set versions add
Each gem-set version retains its respective color treatment and adds 77 diamonds totaling 4.02 carats, according to the manufacture. The stones are distributed across the bezel, pin buckle and crown: the announcement specifies 48 baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel, 10 on the buckle and 18 on the crown. It also identifies a briolette-cut diamond on the crown. The diamond-set editions are limited to five pieces per color reference.

Case, movement and display
The official specifications for the black FB 3SPC.3-1 give a PT-950 platinum case measuring 42.30 mm in diameter and 9.43 mm thick, with water resistance of 30 m. The manufacture describes the case as 57 parts and says machining and finishing it require more than 30 hours.
Inside is the hand-wound FB-SPC calibre. Its cylindrical balance spring is part of a regulating organ that places the balance, pallet-lever and escape wheel at 9 o’clock, visible through a sapphire porthole on the dial side. The movement can also be viewed through the caseback. Hours and minutes are shown centrally, small seconds at 6 o’clock, and the power-reserve indication at 2 o’clock.

The manufacture says the FB 3SPC collection is the only wristwatch with a variable-inertia balance and cylindrical balance spring to be COSC-certified, and notes that it won the Chronometry prize at the 2023 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. That is the manufacturer’s characterization of the collection. It also says around 30 movements of this type are produced and adjusted to chronometer standards each year; this is not the production total for these four platinum references.
Strap and clasp options
The standard configuration uses an alligator-leather strap and an 18 mm platinum pin buckle. The manufacture says an 18 mm folding clasp can be requested in 18-carat rose or white gold. It has a safety catch and approximately ±3 mm of fine adjustment. These clasp options are a separate purchase detail; the launch-price reporting below specifies the pin-buckle configurations.

What the editions cost at launch
Monochrome Watches reported on 28 March 2025 that a non-diamond platinum edition with platinum pin buckle launched at CHF 158,000 including VAT. It reported CHF 220,000 including VAT for a diamond-set version with a diamond-set platinum pin buckle. These are historical launch prices, not current quotes. The available sources do not establish present stock, delivery timing or live pricing, so prospective buyers should request a current quotation from a seller and confirm the exact reference and buckle.
