The H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition is a skeletonized mechanical flyback chronograph created with Alpine Motorsports. Its unexpected counterpart is the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition: a connected hybrid presented as a tool for Alpine team personnel, rather than another conventional watch for fans. The contrast in their intended roles is the most striking part of the pairing.
What is the H. Moser Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition?
The Drivers Edition is reference 6700-1200, a 42.3 mm steel chronograph with blue PVD treatment, a skeletonized HMC 700 movement and a rubber strap, according to retailer Cellini Jewelers. The retailer lists the case as 12.1 mm thick and water resistance as 12 ATM; these specifications are retailer-reported, not confirmed here against an official H. Moser & Cie. product sheet. Cellini Jewelers’ listing
The openworked dial puts the movement on display instead of hiding it behind a conventional dial. Time+Tide describes the HMC 700 as developed with Agenhor, with twin barrels and a 72-hour power reserve. Its coverage also notes a visible dial-side rotor. Time+Tide’s launch coverage
Racing references in the design
Cellini says the V-shaped bridges evoke the suspension of a single-seater, the bridge on the caseback recalls a racing helmet, and the rotor takes inspiration from an Alpine A110 wheel. These are design references, not functional components of a racing car.

What the flyback chronograph does
A flyback lets the wearer restart timing with one operation, without first stopping and resetting the chronograph. That makes it practical for timing successive intervals. Cellini lists centrally placed elapsed-time hands and an approximately three-day power reserve; the latter is consistent with the 72 hours reported for the HMC 700 by Time+Tide.
What is unexpected about the H. Moser Alpine watch set?
The companion is the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition, described in launch coverage as a connected hybrid developed with input from the Alpine team and intended for team personnel. That shifts the story from a mechanical racing-inspired wristwatch to connected functionality aimed at operational team use. Available coverage does not establish its exact features, so it would be misleading to assign it specific functions or treat it as a fully specified smartwatch. Time+Tide and Road & Track

- 1/5 Second Chronograph Measures up to 60 Minutes, 12/24 Hour Time, Date

This pairing suggests two different audiences and purposes: the Drivers Edition is a wearable mechanical chronograph, while the Mechanics Edition is presented as a connected hybrid for people working with the team. That distinction is an interpretation of the paired product coverage, not a confirmed statement of the title’s intent.
How Pierre Gasly contributed
Reporting on the collaboration says Alpine driver Pierre Gasly contributed to the Drivers Edition, including the choice to use a skeletonized design. GQ Germany published his remarks about liking skeletonized watches and seeing the movement as reminiscent of a racing-car engine. Because the article is in German and the English wording is a translation, the safest takeaway is the reported design contribution rather than treating a translated quotation as verbatim English.
