Hamilton’s 2025 Intra-Matic Auto Chrono trio puts a black PVD-coated case and dark dial at the center of the design, then picks out the tachymeter scale and central chronograph hand in white, yellow, or orange. The three references are H38446730, H38446731, and H38446732. They retain the modern automatic H-31 caliber—not the historic Calibre 11.
Three black watches, three accent colors
The shared design is a black PVD-coated stainless-steel case, black dial, and blackened hands and markers with luminous material. The accent treatment differentiates the references: white for H38446730, yellow for H38446731, and orange for H38446732. Monochrome’s March 2025 launch report describes the color on the tachymeter scale and central chronograph hand, with perforated black leather racing straps; the yellow and orange versions have matching colored underlining on the straps. Monochrome Watches also describes a curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
Hamilton frames the collection as drawing on the model’s racing roots and the original Intra-Matic design. The dark treatment changes the look without changing the basic proposition: a vintage-inspired automatic chronograph with a tachymeter.

H-31 is modern, not Calibre 11
Hamilton identifies the movement as automatic Caliber H-31. Monochrome reports that it is based on the ETA/Valjoux 7753, with 27 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, a reworked gear train, and a Nivachron balance spring. It explicitly distinguishes H-31 from the 1969 Chrono-Matic, also known as Calibre 11; the modern watch does not contain that historic movement. Monochrome’s launch coverage provides those movement details.

How the Intra-Matic connects to chronograph history
Monochrome traces the design lineage to Project 99, a late-1960s collaboration involving Büren, Heuer, Breitling, and Dubois-Depraz. The resulting automatic Chrono-Matic/Calibre 11 chronograph was presented in 1969; Hamilton’s Chronograph A and B were also part of the period’s design story. The modern Intra-Matic 68 followed in 2017, according to the same account. This is historical context for the design, not a claim that today’s H-31 is the old caliber.
Launch pricing and what the current listings show
When the trio was announced on March 20, 2025, Monochrome listed launch prices of EUR 2,595, CHF 2,295, and USD 2,295, and described the watches as part of Hamilton’s permanent collection. Those are launch-era prices, not a guarantee of today’s local price. The manufacturer pages accessed October 8, 2026 showed £2,265 for H38446730 in the UK and $2,625 for H38446732 in the US. A price or stock status in one country does not establish availability in another.

Color is the clearest choice between the three: white is the restrained contrast, while yellow and orange make the accent treatment more conspicuous. That is a visual distinction, not a measured legibility result. There is no controlled comparative test here establishing which dial is easiest to read or most comfortable to wear.

If you are checking fit, use the published dimensions for the exact reference and market listing rather than relying on the 40mm diameter alone. The 49mm lug-to-lug measurement and 14.45mm thickness on H38446730 are useful alongside wrist size and the way you prefer a chronograph to sit. For strap replacement, Hamilton lists a 20mm lug width for that reference; confirm the width, attachment, and compatibility for your own variant before ordering a third-party strap.
