The Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon is a 2025, non-limited addition to the brand’s permanent Classic Auto collection. Reference LCF046.AC.CG1 keeps the line’s polished-steel, 40 mm profile and familiar hours, minutes, small-seconds and date layout, but gives it a translucent horizon-blue lacquer dial. Its automatic LF270.01 micro-rotor movement is specified with a 72-hour power reserve. Published specifications and reviewer impressions make it a compelling first look; they are not independent performance test results.
What is the Classic Auto Horizon?
Laurent Ferrier introduced the Classic Auto Horizon in April 2025 as a permanent, non-limited catalog model, according to GPHG and Hodinkee. The reference is LCF046.AC.CG1. It follows the Classic Auto Sandstone, retaining the collection’s classic case and restrained display while replacing the earlier model’s copper-toned dial with blue lacquer. The LF270.01 movement had previously appeared in the Sport Auto.

PIERRE RICHARDSON Men’s Luxury Watch – Japanese Quartz Movement, Stainless Steel, 41mm, 5ATM... | $199.99 | Buy on Amazon |
Laurent Ferrier’s Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 page connects the “Auto” name with the Sport Auto and the brand’s motor-racing association, presenting the watch as a blend of classic elegance and dynamic performance. That is brand positioning, not a measured performance claim.
Case, dial and display
Dimensions and construction
The polished stainless-steel case measures 40 mm in diameter. GPHG’s listing and Fratello’s 2025 report give its thickness as 11.94 mm; Hodinkee rounds that to 11.9 mm. Fratello reports a 47.1 mm lug-to-lug measurement, sapphire crystal at the front and display caseback, and 30 m / 3 ATM water resistance. That rating is a published specification; the cited coverage does not establish a recommendation for swimming, bathing or other water exposure.

A layered blue dial
The dial uses translucent horizon-blue lacquer over a silver-galvanized base. Its vertically brushed center contrasts with a circular-brushed minute track, while a crosshair motif ties the two areas together. White-gold Assegai, or spearhead, hands and indices mark the hours. At six is a snailed small-seconds subdial; at three, a stamped, sloped date aperture. Hodinkee reads the outline of that aperture as an automotive design cue, an editorial interpretation rather than a confirmed design statement.
The combination gives the watch more visual texture than its restrained layout might suggest: the translucent color lets the base and brushing contribute to the dial’s appearance rather than presenting as a flat blue surface. Fratello’s Thomas Van Straaten particularly discusses the date aperture and reports that the proportions wore well for him. Those are his hands-on impressions, not a guarantee of fit on every wrist.
LF270.01 movement and finishing
The LF270.01 is an automatic micro-rotor calibre. The published specifications list 31 jewels, 215 components, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and a 72-hour power reserve. These figures are reported by Hodinkee and Fratello; they are not results of independent accuracy or endurance testing.
Through the display back, the sources describe a platinum micro-rotor, rhodium-plated bridges, Côtes de Genève decoration and hand-finished bevels. Hodinkee and Fratello report more than 139 manual finishing operations. That is a count of finishing operations, not a measure of timekeeping performance.

Hodinkee’s Rich Fordon praises the subdued blue dial and its brushing, while noting that this calibre uses a Swiss lever escapement rather than the natural escapement found in some other Laurent Ferrier models. His preference is a reviewer’s assessment, not evidence of a defect or of one architecture’s superiority.

Price and regional context
Published prices differ by date, market and tax basis, so they should not be treated as one interchangeable global quote. Laurent Ferrier’s collection page displayed CHF 46,000 when accessed in 2026. GPHG displayed CHF 48,645 including VAT when its listing was accessed in 2026. Hodinkee and Fratello each reported a US$52,000 price in 2025. These figures do not establish a current US retail quote or local availability.
For a purchase decision, confirm the current price, applicable taxes, strap and clasp configuration, and availability directly with Laurent Ferrier or an authorized retailer. The brand’s displayed listing is at Laurent Ferrier’s Classic collection page.
What this first look can—and cannot—tell you
The published information establishes a polished-steel 40 mm case, a distinctive layered blue dial, the date and small-seconds display, and a highly finished micro-rotor movement with a stated 72-hour reserve. It also gives useful measurements for comparing proportions. Whether those dimensions suit a particular wrist, how the watch performs over time, and what ownership or servicing will cost are not established by these reports.
For a comparison with another watch, the useful points are case diameter and lug-to-lug length, thickness, dial color and finishing, date versus no-date preference, movement architecture and decoration, water-resistance rating, strap and clasp configuration, and price in the relevant region. If comparing escapements, verify the other model’s calibre and treat the architectural distinction separately from any claim of superiority.
