What the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Obsidian is
Piaget’s current catalog names the watch the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Obsidian. It is an ultra-thin Polo with a 1255P automatic perpetual calendar, housed in a 42 mm 18k white-gold case. Piaget gives the case thickness as 8.65 mm and the caliber thickness as 4 mm. The case retains the Polo’s cushion-within-round shape rather than adopting a conventional round profile.
The dial is natural obsidian, not a uniform colored surface. Piaget says mineral-rich sulfide inclusions trapped as the rock solidified create the blue or green dial’s silver reflections and iridescence. That natural origin means individual surfaces may vary; an image of one example should not be taken as a promise that every dial will look identical. How the perpetual calendar is arranged
The four calendar and astronomical indications are distributed around the dial: weekday at 9 o’clock, pointer date at 3, month and leap-year indicator at 12, and moon phase at 6. The layout keeps the calendar information separated into subdials instead of crowding it into a single display.

Piaget says the perpetual calendar is designed to advance the day, date, and year through 2100. That describes the mechanism’s intended calendar span; it does not mean the watch is maintenance-free or that it can never require correction. The claim appears on Piaget’s official product page.
The 1255P movement
Piaget identifies the 1255P as an automatic caliber based on its 1200P architecture. The manufacturer specifies a 4 mm movement, while Monochrome reports a 42-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Monochrome also gives the caliber’s count as 238 components and 25 jewels, and notes its blue micro-rotor. These finer specifications are specialist-reported rather than independently measured here.
