The new black-gold Captain Cook is Rado’s Captain Cook Hong Kong Limited Edition, a skeleton watch with a matt-black high-tech ceramic case and bracelet, polished black-gold accents and an 80-hour power reserve. Rado announced it on 8 January 2026 and limited it to 88 pieces. The release calls the monochromatic look “a new direction for the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton.”
What makes this the Hong Kong Limited Edition?
The edition is defined by more than its black-and-gold appearance. Rado says it is limited to 88 pieces, a number chosen because 88 symbolizes good luck in Chinese culture. Its caseback is engraved “HONG KONG EDITION, ONE OUT OF 88” and carries a metallised depiction of Hong Kong Island’s skyline as viewed from Kowloon. Rado’s announcement identifies the watch specifically as the Captain Cook Hong Kong Limited Edition.
Case, bracelet and dial details
The case, crown and bracelet are made from matt-black high-tech ceramic. A black-tinted sapphire crystal sits over the skeletonized movement, while the turning bezel has an anti-fingerprint insert and raised markers. Polished black-gold indexes and hands provide contrast against the predominantly black design.
For time reading in low light, Rado specifies black Super-LumiNova on the hour- and minute-hand tips, glowing blue. The seconds hand has a red tip filled with white Super-LumiNova. These accents offer small, distinct points of color amid the black and nickel tones.

Movement and power reserve
Rado describes the watch’s movement as skeletonized, with nickel-coloured plates and bridges, and states an 80-hour power reserve. That is the manufacturer’s published figure; the release does not provide an independent performance test or additional movement specifications for this edition.
How it differs from the R32192152 listing
Rado India lists the related Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton reference R32192152, but it is not the Hong Kong Limited Edition. Its product page describes a 43.0 mm automatic R808 watch with rose-gold-colour accents and an 80-hour power reserve. The page also specifies five-position movement testing.
