What is the Rolex left-crown GMT-Master II?
Reference 126720VTNR is a 40 mm Oystersteel GMT-Master II with a black dial. Its winding crown and crown guard are on the left side of the case, while the date aperture is at 9 o’clock. The green-and-black bezel insert is made of Cerachrom ceramic. Rolex describes this configuration as introduced in 2022; its statement that it is the only watch with this configuration applies to the current Rolex catalogue and may change as the catalogue changes. How does its GMT function work?
The arrow-tipped 24-hour hand makes one rotation per day. Read against the bezel’s 24-hour graduations, it displays a second, reference time—often used as home time. To change the local time while travelling, the wearer can move the local hour hand forward or backward independently of the minute and seconds hands. Oyster or Jubilee: what changes?
Rolex’s surfaced U.S. product pages list the 126720VTNR with two bracelet configurations. The case, left-side crown layout, date position, bezel, and GMT function identify the model; the bracelet is the visible configuration choice.

What does the left-side crown mean in practice?
The crown and its guards sit opposite their familiar right-side position, and the date is moved to 9 o’clock to suit the case layout. This is the defining visual and handling distinction of this GMT-Master II configuration. The official product information establishes the arrangement but does not establish a universal comfort or usability benefit for left-wrist or right-wrist wearers.
