Its British-racing palette gives the familiar Monaco shape a more restrained, motorsport-inspired look, while the Calibre 11 movement retains the collection’s distinctive crown-at-nine layout.
What makes the Racing Green edition distinctive?
The design brings together three colours with different roles. TAG Heuer describes the main dial as silver sunray-brushed, with green opaline chronograph subdials and yellow highlights. The silver surface is intended to recall the engine-turned dashboards of sports cars from the 1920s and 1930s; green and yellow reference British racing liveries, according to the brand’s launch story and model brochure.

TAG Heuer traces the British Racing Green association to a Napier 50 driven by Selwyn Edge to victory in the 1902 Gordon Bennett Cup. That is the brand’s historical framing for the colour choice, rather than a claim that this watch recreates a particular period instrument.
The palette also distinguishes the watch from the Racing Blue chapter TAG Heuer introduced in 2023. The available specifications establish the Racing Green’s details, but not a full technical comparison between the two editions.

The square case measures 39 mm and is made of sandblasted grade-2 titanium, giving it a subdued finish rather than the reflective look of polished steel. TAG Heuer lists a domed, bevelled sapphire crystal, sapphire caseback and water resistance of 100 m. The green perforated calfskin strap has matching green lining and a yellow underside; its folding clasp is also grade-2 titanium.
Monochrome Watches gives the case height as 14.35 mm and its length as 47.5 mm in its 19 September 2024 first look. These measurements add useful context to the 39 mm width: the square case’s presence on the wrist is not captured by width alone.

Calibre 11 and the crown at nine
The automatic Calibre 11 powers the chronograph, with hours, minutes, seconds and date also listed among its functions. TAG Heuer specifies a 40-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The crown is positioned on the left side of the case, opposite the chronograph pushers.
That arrangement is a defining Monaco cue, and TAG Heuer connects it to the model’s Calibre 11 history beginning in 1969. Monochrome reports that the present movement uses a modular chronograph architecture based on a Sellita SW300 with a Dubois-Depraz module; that construction detail is the publication’s account, not a specification stated on TAG Heuer’s product page.

How it fits into Monaco history
The Monaco is closely associated with Steve McQueen, who wore a vintage Monaco reference 1133B in the 1971 film Le Mans, as TAG Heuer notes in its vintage collection history. The Racing Green is a modern watch with reference CAW218E.FC6565; it is not the watch McQueen wore. Its connection to that history is through the Monaco line, while its green-and-yellow styling makes a separate reference to British motorsport.

TAG Heuer said the Racing Green edition was limited to 1,000 pieces in its 19 September 2024 launch story. That is the manufacturer’s stated edition quantity.

Prices and stock depend on market and date. Monochrome reported a launch price of CHF 9,100 in September 2024. TAG Heuer’s Australia product page displayed A$14,550 and “Out of stock online” when crawled; that storefront status does not establish availability elsewhere or current Australian stock.
