First Look: The Rado Anatom Returns with High-Tech Ceramic Bracelets

Rado revived the Anatom in 2023, extending its curved-crystal design into ceramic bracelet editions. Here’s how references R10203102 and R10202209 differ.

The Rado Anatom’s return is built around a distinctive line: a curved sapphire crystal that follows the wrist and appears to flow into the bracelet. The collection relaunched in 2023, and later editions bring high-tech ceramic links into that continuous silhouette. The details vary by reference, however: R10203102 pairs plasma ceramic with rose-gold-coloured PVD steel links, while R10202209 uses a black bracelet with rubber, ceramic and stainless steel listed among its materials.

From a curved crystal in 1983 to a 2023 relaunch

Rado dates the Anatom’s world premiere to late 1983. The original design’s defining feature was a convex sapphire crystal shaped to follow the natural curve of the wrist, according to the brand’s product description. Rado’s collection page identifies 2023 as the year the watch was relaunched, four decades after its debut.

The first modern version paired the revived design with a black matte high-tech ceramic bezel and a textured rubber strap, according to Rado’s press-room account of the relaunch. Later ceramic-bracelet editions extend the visual idea further: the collection page describes the cylindrical sapphire crystal, bevelled on both sides, as flowing into polished high-tech ceramic links. That continuity is the design’s central proposition; the exact materials and finishes depend on the reference.

Two ceramic-era references, with different bracelets

Reference Case and movement Bracelet and clasp Other listed details
R10203102 32.5 mm case; automatic R766 movement; 72-hour power reserve Polished plasma high-tech ceramic links and polished rose-gold-coloured PVD-coated steel middle links; brushed steel three-fold clasp Rado’s Swiss product page displayed CHF 4,300 including VAT when accessed. This is a Swiss regional recommended retail price, not a universal price.
R10202209 32.5 mm case; 11.3 mm thick; automatic R766 movement; 72-hour power reserve Black bracelet; listed materials are rubber, high-tech ceramic and stainless steel; extendable folding clasp in ceramic and stainless steel 50 m water resistance

Both models share the stated case diameter, movement calibre and power reserve, but their bracelet descriptions are not interchangeable. Rado’s specification for R10203102 explicitly identifies plasma ceramic links and rose-gold-coloured PVD-coated steel middle links. The R10202209 page instead gives a broader list of bracelet materials and specifies a black bracelet and ceramic-and-steel folding clasp.

What Rado means by plasma high-tech ceramic

For R10203102, the plasma finish gives the ceramic links a metallic appearance. Rado explains that its plasma process transforms the surface of white high-tech ceramic to a metallic colour, while the ceramic itself contains no metal. This is the brand’s description of its material and process, rather than an independent materials analysis.

The ceramic bracelet is a design and materials distinction, not proof of a particular comfort or scratch-resistance outcome. The official information cited here does not provide independent wear testing, scratch testing or comparative durability measurements, so those qualities should not be inferred from the finish alone.

How the ceramic bracelets fit into the wider Anatom range

The name does not guarantee a ceramic bracelet on every Anatom. Rado’s account of the 2023 relaunch describes a rubber strap, and its Anatom Skeleton press page describes a skeletonized variant with a high-tech ceramic bezel and a special rubber strap. That Skeleton information is range context, not evidence that all 2026 Anatom models—or all versions in the line—use ceramic bracelets.

For a buyer comparing the two references above, start with the exact reference number and then check the bracelet composition, clasp and regional product page. The common 32.5 mm diameter and R766 movement do not make the configurations equivalent.
