Its silver, black and red dial takes its cues from a 1950s sports car, while the 100 m water-resistance rating and 65-hour minimum power reserve make for a substantial everyday specification. This is a specification-led first look, not a personal hands-on review: the available material does not establish my own access to the watch or wrist-fit and timing tests.
What is the Noramis Sachsen Classic 2025?
It is reference D012.427.16.032.09, a limited-edition Noramis Chronograph made for Union Glashütte’s association with the Sachsen Classic rally. The brand lists the edition at 350 pieces worldwide. Its official product page lists a price of €3,600; Wempe also listed the exact reference at €3,600 and marked it available when its page was captured. Check the Union Glashütte product page or the Wempe listing for current price and stock, which can change.
The event connection is specific rather than just a name on the dial. Union Glashütte was an official partner of the 23rd Sachsen Classic, held August 13–15, 2025. The brand says the rally route covered more than 600 km through Saxony and that the Großer Werkmeister roadster was entered for the brand. Its event recap says Dresden served as both start and finish for the first time that year; eligible cars had to be built by 2003, and only mechanical measuring instruments were permitted.
Design: a 1950s roadster translated to the dial
Union Glashütte says the watch draws inspiration from the Großer Werkmeister, which it describes as a sporty two-seater from the 1950s. The brand’s design account links the silver dial’s hand-polished circular perlage to the car’s dashboard, the red accents to the tachometer’s red section, and the predominantly silver palette to its aluminum body. These are the manufacturer’s stated inspirations, not independent claims about the car’s history.

Two black counters provide the strongest contrast against the silver dial, with applied indices and Arabic numerals adding further detail. The black calfskin strap has double stitching. Together, the silver, black and red details make the motorsport reference legible without relying on a brightly colored dial or an overtly modern racing case.
Denis Peshkov’s separate hands-on article for Monochrome Watches, published January 12, 2026, describes satin-brushed case flanks with polished accents, pump pushers and a box-shaped appearance to the sapphire crystal. Those are Peshkov’s observations, not mine. His account also describes the caseback’s individual number and says the watch felt balanced on his wrist; that wrist impression cannot establish how it will fit another wearer. How large is the case, and what does it mean for fit?
Union Glashütte specifies a 42 mm diameter, 50.63 mm lug-to-lug length, 14.5 mm thickness and 22 mm lug width. The listed weight is 117 g. The diameter is only one part of the fit picture: the 50.63 mm end-to-end measurement and 14.5 mm height are also substantial, so wrist shape, strap fit and personal preference matter. No wrist-fit conclusion can be drawn without trying this particular watch on.

Movement and chronograph functions
The automatic UNG-27.S2 has a silicon balance spring and a stated power reserve of at least 65 hours. Union Glashütte lists 29 jewels, a 30 mm movement diameter and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Its listed functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, date and chronograph timing: a 60-second chronograph indication and a 30-minute counter. The brand describes a cam-operated chronograph mechanism, two pushers and a date corrector.

Monochrome’s technical list gives 27 jewels, compared with the manufacturer’s 29. The figures above use Union Glashütte’s published specifications rather than treating the two jewel counts as interchangeable.

Water resistance, servicing and ownership
The stated 100 m rating is the manufacturer’s specification, not a guarantee that every example will remain water-resistant indefinitely. Union Glashütte says seal aging and mechanical stress on the crown or pushers can affect resistance. It recommends an approximately annual water-resistance check by an authorized service partner and says case work should be handled by qualified professionals. The brand lists a two-year warranty; consult its product information for the applicable terms.
Who is it for?
The watch’s strongest case is its coherent theme: rally-linked details are carried through the dial colors and surface pattern, while the automatic chronograph specification includes a silicon balance spring and at least 65 hours of reserve. In return, the buyer must be comfortable with a 42 mm case that measures 50.63 mm lug-to-lug and 14.5 mm thick. The 350-piece limit establishes scarcity, but the available facts do not support a claim that it will outperform competing chronographs or prove a particular fit. Trying one on is the practical way to judge its proportions.
