Zenith’s DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton is a January 2026 LVMH Watch Week release and the first tourbillon skeleton in the DEFY Skyline family. It pairs a 41 mm rose-gold sports-watch case and bracelet with blue openworked architecture around the automatic El Primero 3630 SK movement. This is a launch first look based on published specifications, not a hands-on review.
What makes this DEFY Skyline new
Zenith announced the watch on 19 January 2026 as the first DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton, describing its execution as fully openworked rose gold. The exposed movement is the focal point: blue PVD-treated openworked architecture frames the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, while the case and bracelet provide the contrasting warm-metal exterior. Zenith’s LVMH Watch Week announcement also introduced other 2026 DEFY models, including a black-and-gold DEFY Skyline Skeleton, but those are separate watches with distinct specifications.
The collection’s design context is geometric and resilient. Zenith CEO Benoît de Clerck described the DEFY Skyline as “the modern evolution of the first 1969 DEFY,” preserving the line’s geometry and resilience in a contemporary architectural vocabulary. That statement concerns the Skyline line, rather than a specific performance claim about this tourbillon reference.
Case, dial architecture and straps
The published first-look specifications describe a 41 mm case in 18k rose gold, a dodecagonal bezel, and sapphire crystals on both the front and back. Water resistance is listed at 100 m. The blue PVD-treated openworked structure makes the movement visible from the dial side; the watch does not use a conventional solid dial.

For a specification-led view, the appeal is clear: an integrated rose-gold Skyline form, a blue openworked movement, and a high-frequency tourbillon calibre in a 50-piece edition. Whether those features justify the launch price is a personal judgment; there is no like-for-like competing model established here for a direct comparison.
