Franck Muller’s Master Lighter is both a working lighter and a double-sided skeleton watch, created with S.T. Dupont. It was unveiled at Franck Muller’s WPHH showcase in April 2024, amid Geneva’s spring watch events. The unusual format makes it an eye-catching launch, though “wackiest” is a matter of taste rather than an industry award.
What is the Franck Muller Master Lighter?
The Master Lighter is a collaboration between watchmaker Franck Muller and lighter maker S.T. Dupont. S.T. Dupont describes it as a double-sided skeleton watch built into a lighter, with a three-day power reserve. Franck Muller USA describes a manual-wind skeleton movement integrated into a double-flame lighter.
Time+Tide reports that the lighter uses a traditional spark wheel and that the axis for the watch hands crosses the lighter’s fuel reservoir. Those details describe the reported design; they are not independent test results. The available brand descriptions do not specify fuel compatibility or user service instructions.
How the watch looks from each side
Time+Tide describes the front as a lacquered, guilloché dial with Franck Muller-style numerals and spade-shaped hands. Turn the lighter over and the reverse reveals the skeletonized movement, including central seconds. The two-sided presentation lets the object function as both a timepiece and a display of its mechanics.

Where it debuted in Geneva
The Master Lighter was presented at the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie (WPHH), Franck Muller’s annual novelties showcase, in April 2024. Time+Tide describes WPHH as timed alongside Watches and Wonders and other Geneva watchmaking events; JCK also reports that the lighter was first shown at WPHH, at Franck Muller’s facility outside Geneva. “Geneva Watch Week” is a broad label for this spring gathering of events, not the formal name of the launch.
Four reported editions and their 2024 launch prices
Time+Tide’s April 24, 2024 report listed four versions, each limited to 88 pieces. These are launch-era prices, not confirmed current retail or resale prices.
