The list is an editorial selection—not a market ranking—and its entries differ in how they display and adjust a second time zone. The prices below are those reported in Fratello’s December 5, 2025 article, not verified current prices.
What Fratello’s 2025 GMT list represents
Fratello author Jorg Weppelink published the selection on December 5, 2025, focusing on GMT watches released in the preceding 12 months. He described the five as favorites, not objectively ranked winners, and said the field of notable candidates was not so large that choosing five was especially difficult. The list is most useful as a snapshot of varied approaches to a second time zone.
The five watches at a glance
| Watch | Case and movement details reported by Fratello | Second-time-zone approach | Publication-era price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer | 40 mm steel case; 9.9 mm thick; 48 mm lug-to-lug; automatic DUW 3202, 37 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour, 42-hour power reserve | At 2 o’clock, a pusher adjusts the 12-hour hand to show another time zone | Not stated in Fratello’s article |
| Dennison ALD Dual Time | 37 × 35.6 mm case; 6.1 mm thick; two Ronda quartz movements | Two sets of hands show two zones on a natural-stone dial | Just under €765, as reported by Fratello |
| Tudor Black Bay Pro Opaline | 39 mm case; 14.6 mm thick; MT5652 caliber, COSC-certified, silicon balance spring, 70-hour power reserve | Fratello describes it as a GMT; its article emphasizes the dial and GMT hand rather than specifying an adjustment procedure | Not stated in Fratello’s article |
| Christopher Ward C63 Sealander Extreme GMT | 41 × 48 mm case; 11.65 mm profile including sapphire crystal; Sellita SW330-2, 56-hour power reserve | Caller-style GMT, according to Fratello | €1,695 on strap or €1,895 on bracelet, as reported by Fratello |

Unless noted, the measurements, specifications and quoted prices in this table are Fratello’s December 2025 reporting. They do not establish present-day pricing or availability. The article does not state a price for the Nomos or Tudor.
What distinguishes each selection
Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer
Fratello highlights the Worldtimer’s debut at Watches and Wonders, standard silver and blue dial colors, and later limited editions. Its defining interaction is the pusher at 2 o’clock, which moves the 12-hour hand to indicate another time zone. The automatic DUW 3202 is specified with a 42-hour power reserve. Weppelink called it his most exciting GMT of the year; that is his editorial view, not the result of an independent comparative test.

Dennison ALD Dual Time
The ALD Dual Time puts two sets of hands over a natural-stone dial and uses two Ronda quartz movements. Fratello describes a split-screen version with contrasting stones and another layout that pairs one stone with a sunburst sub-dial for the second set of hands. The reported case dimensions are 37 × 35.6 mm and 6.1 mm thick. Models were described with Epsom calfskin straps.
Tudor Black Bay Pro Opaline
The opaline dial is paired with luminous indexes edged in black and a dark yellow GMT hand. Fratello reports a 39 × 14.6 mm case and the MT5652 caliber, with COSC chronometer certification, a silicon balance spring and a 70-hour power reserve. Weppelink characterizes it as a robust everyday watch but notes that the case may feel chunky to some; both are his assessments.
Christopher Ward C63 Sealander Extreme GMT
Fratello describes a steel case measuring 41 × 48 mm, with an 11.65 mm profile that includes the sapphire crystal. The watch has a black ceramic bezel with a luminous GMT scale, and the article reports military-green and matte-black dial options. A Sellita SW330-2 powers it, with a stated 56-hour reserve; reported strap choices were orange or black Cordura, alongside an Oyster-style Bader bracelet.
The evidence behind this entry has an important limit: Weppelink said the watches had not yet arrived for hands-on review. His favorable impression was based on images and press materials, so the article does not establish how the watch wears or performs in use.
Rank #3
- Quartz GMT Movement - When used in conjunction with the black and blue rotating bezel, the two-blue and white triangle GMT hand can be used to track a second time zone.
- Stainless-steel - The stainless-steel case and bracelet are resistant to corrosion, rust, and daily wear and tear.
- Date Window - Easily track the date in a dedicated window beside 3 o'clock.
- Enhanced Visibility - Luminant hands ensure readability in low-light conditions.
Rolex GMT-Master II “Tiger Iron”
This reference pairs an Everose gold case and Oyster bracelet with a Tiger Iron dial and black-and-brown Cerachrom bezel insert. Fratello reports a 40 mm diameter, 12 mm thickness, 48 mm lug-to-lug measurement and caliber 3285 with a 70-hour power reserve.
Rolex’s 2025 press release independently identifies the dial stone as a combination of tiger’s eye, red jasper and hematite, and says the company used this metamorphic rock for the first time. That official statement confirms the material description; it is not an independent assessment of the watch.
Rank #4
- 38mm stainless steel case
- Day date window on dial
- Acrylic lens
- Stainless steel attachment
- Water resistant to 50m (165 ft): In general, suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not diving or snorkeling
How to choose among these five
The most useful comparison is not a single winner but the trade-offs that matter to the wearer. Start with fit and time-zone operation, then weigh movement, materials, carrying options and the strength of available evidence.
- Fit: Compare both case diameter and thickness, and pay attention to lug-to-lug length where Fratello supplies it. The reported dimensions alone do not establish comfort on a particular wrist.
- Time-zone display: The Nomos uses a pusher to adjust its 12-hour hand; the Dennison displays two zones with separate hands and two quartz movements. Fratello calls the C63 a caller-style GMT but does not give an equivalent operating description for every model.
- Movement and reserve: The article reports automatic movements for the Nomos and Tudor, two quartz movements for the Dennison, and Sellita and Rolex calibers for the C63 and GMT-Master II. Reserves are stated for four watches, but they are not a direct measure of everyday suitability on their own.
- Materials and style: The selection ranges from steel cases and ceramic to natural-stone dials and Everose gold. The C63’s dial and strap choices, Dennison’s stone layouts and Rolex’s distinctive dial make appearance a substantial part of the choice.
- Price and evidence: Treat the listed figures as historical publication prices, not current offers. In particular, the C63 description was not based on a hands-on review.
