Fratello’s five favorite Rolex releases of 2025 span a blue-dial Oyster Perpetual, a colorful gold Daytona, the new Land-Dweller, a 1908 on a distinctive bracelet, and a GMT-Master II with a natural stone dial. This is an editorial selection of specific references—not an objective ranking by sales, performance, scarcity, or collector consensus.
How Fratello chose its five
In an article published June 6, 2025, Fratello author Jorg Weppelink said, “We decided to pick our favorite individual watches.” He also noted that not every team member would choose the same five. The list therefore reflects the team’s preferences after seeing Rolex’s 2025 novelties, rather than a standardized comparison or market ranking. Fratello’s original list asks readers which release was their favorite.

The five Rolex releases
1. Oyster Perpetual 36 ref. 126000-0015
Fratello’s pick is the 36 mm Oystersteel Oyster Perpetual with a medium-blue lacquered dial. The saturated blue is the point: among the new dial colors, the team found this version especially versatile. Rolex calls the dial “med blue” and confirms the 36 mm case and calibre 3230 on its official product page.
Fratello reports dimensions of 36 mm across, 11.5 mm thick and 44 mm lug-to-lug. The automatic calibre 3230 has an approximately 70-hour power reserve. Rolex describes the watch as a Superlative Chronometer, with −2/+2 seconds per day accuracy after casing. Fratello listed a 2025 European retail price of €6,400; that is a historical euro price, not a verified current or global quote.

2. Cosmograph Daytona ref. 126518LN-0014
This 40 mm Daytona brings together an 18 ct yellow-gold case, turquoise-blue-and-black dial, black ceramic bezel and Oysterflex bracelet. Fratello’s appeal is the contrast: the turquoise is bold, while the black elements keep the overall combination from feeling as vivid as the dial alone might suggest. Rolex confirms the configuration and calibre 4131 on its official product page.
Fratello gives the case dimensions as 40 mm by 11.9 mm, with a 46 mm lug-to-lug measurement. The automatic calibre 4131 has an approximately 72-hour reserve. Its 2025 European retail price in Fratello’s article was €37,700, not a current-price guarantee.
3. Land-Dweller 36 ref. 127234-0001
Fratello selected the 36 mm version in Oystersteel with a white-gold bezel and white dial. Its main argument is proportion: the team preferred the smaller option as a balanced expression of the new collection, while the 40 mm model may suit other tastes. Rolex confirms the reference and materials on its official product page.
Fratello’s June 2025 article describes the automatic calibre 7135, running at 36,000 vibrations per hour and using a Dynapulse escapement. It reports a 66-hour power reserve and ±2 seconds per day accuracy. The article lists the 2025 retail price as €14,550; this historical euro figure should not be read as a current or worldwide price.

Rather than introducing an entirely new model family, Rolex paired an existing 1908 configuration with the seven-row Settimo bracelet. That bracelet is the reason Fratello chose this version: it changes the watch’s character from the more familiar leather-strap dress-watch look. Rolex identifies ref. 52508-0008 as an 18 ct yellow-gold 1908 on its official product page.
Fratello describes a 39 mm yellow-gold case, coin-edge bezel, white or black dial options, and small seconds at six o’clock. The movement is calibre 7140, with a 66-hour reserve. Its article gives a 2025 European retail price of €36,200, not a verified current price.

5. GMT-Master II “Tiger Iron” ref. 126715CHNR-0002
Fratello’s choice is the Everose-gold version, pairing an Everose Oyster bracelet and black-and-brown Cerachrom bezel with a dial made from tiger’s eye, red jasper and hematite. The natural stone composition means the dial’s appearance varies from watch to watch. Fratello says a yellow-gold version was also available, but the team preferred how the stone dial worked with Everose. Rolex identifies this reference as an 18 ct Everose-gold GMT-Master II on its official product page.
Fratello reports a 40 mm case, 12 mm thickness and 48 mm lug-to-lug. Calibre 3285 provides an approximately 70-hour power reserve. Fratello’s 2025 European retail price was €51,250; it is a historical figure rather than a current or global quote.

What makes the list distinctive
The five choices are not simply five new model families. Fratello included individual configurations: the blue-dial OP, a particular Daytona colorway, the 36 mm Land-Dweller, a 1908 distinguished by its bracelet, and one gold-and-stone-dial GMT-Master II. The reasons are correspondingly varied—everyday versatility, color balance, proportions and movement architecture, bracelet design, and the one-of-a-kind character of a natural stone dial. The list offers qualitative preferences, not standardized test results across the watches.
