What distinguishes the black-dial version?
The FC-706B3H6 is the black-dial reference in the Classic Date Manufacture family. Its sunburst surface, silver-colored hands and markers, and circular minute track give the dial its defining look, while the date sits at 6 o’clock. The watch is supplied with a black alligator strap.
Frederique Constant describes the 40 mm case as smaller than the previous 42 mm case for this model family. That is a change in the stated case diameter; it does not by itself establish how the watch will fit an individual wrist.
Movement and power reserve
The FC-706 is an automatic Manufacture movement. Frederique Constant lists a 72-hour power reserve, 26 jewels, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, equivalent to 4 Hz. The 72-hour figure is the manufacturer’s specification, not an independently measured result. The brand’s launch article says the newer FC-706 replaced legacy calibres with a 38-hour reserve in the three timepieces discussed.

Case and strap fit
The case measures 40 mm across and 11.78 mm thick, with a 20 mm lug width. Although 20 mm is useful when searching for a replacement strap, width alone does not confirm compatibility: check the strap’s end shape, clasp, and fitting against the watch.
