The result was the limited-edition Highlife Moonphase Manufacture Onyx Moon, a 100-piece watch built around an onyx dial and Frederique Constant’s in-house FC-716 movement. The published account gives the broad origin, but not the meeting’s exact date, location or a step-by-step design history.
How the collaboration began
In a video recounting the project, Time+Tide presenter Andrew and Frederique Constant CEO Niels Eggerding describe a chance meeting roughly three years before the watch’s December 2025 launch. They frame the partnership around a shared vision and a mutual desire to innovate. Time+Tide’s written account does not name the setting or date of the original meeting, identify everyone who was there, or lay out the design decisions in sequence. Time+Tide’s launch account is the source for that origin story.
What came out of the partnership
The first collaboration was the Frederique Constant Highlife Moonphase Manufacture Onyx Moon, reference FC-716ONB3NH6B. It was limited to 100 pieces worldwide. The watch combines a black onyx dial with red detailing, a moonphase display and a five-link stainless-steel bracelet. Time+Tide describes the bracelet as Jubilee-style.
The project also brought several stated firsts: the first onyx stone dial and dial without hour indices in the Highlife line, and the first manufacture moonphase fitted to a Highlife. Time+Tide calls it the first moonphase watch in its own collaboration history. Frederique Constant’s official product page describes it as “An exclusive collaboration between Frederique Constant and Time+Tide. Limited to 100 pieces.”

What the Onyx Moon offers
The sparse dial is the watch’s defining design choice: it has no hour indices, setting the moonphase display and red accents against the onyx surface. The trade-off is that the dial gives up the usual visual markers that help locate the hours at a glance.

Launch price and current US listing
At launch in December 2025, Time+Tide listed prices of US$5,695, £4,350, A$8,695 and €4,895. It said the watch would be sold through Frederique Constant and Time+Tide Watches, including in person at Time+Tide’s London and Melbourne Watch Discovery Studios. These are launch prices and channels, not a statement of current stock.

As of 2026, Frederique Constant’s US product page lists the watch at $6,095 and marks it sold out. That US listing does not establish availability in other markets. In January 2026, Time+Tide described the collaboration as its first with Frederique Constant and said the brand was joining the studio’s curated retail offering.

It does not establish exactly when or where the first meeting took place, who else participated, or how the design evolved from initial discussion to final specifications.
