The Furlan Marri 2116-A Black Sector was the brand’s first mechanical three-hand watch, introduced in June 2022. Its appeal lies in a compact 37.5 mm case, a finely detailed black sector dial and a La Joux-Perret automatic movement. The important qualification for anyone looking for one today: launch coverage described this specific Black Sector as a preorder-only edition that would not be produced again.
What made the 2116-A significant?
Furlan Marri first drew attention with meca-quartz chronographs; the 2116-A marked its move into a mechanical three-hand watch. Monochrome Watches identified it as the brand’s first mechanical watch when reporting on the later Blue Sector in October 2025. The Black Sector was presented in June 2022 as the first expression of the design.
The model belongs to the Cornes de Vache, or “cow-horn,” design family. Rather than broad, integrated lugs, it uses separate lugs with a curved profile. Combined with its restrained case dimensions and sector dial, that gives the watch a vintage-inspired dress-watch character without relying on a large case.

Monochrome’s June 15, 2022 launch introduction lists these specifications. It does not state the lug width, so the case diameter alone is not enough to determine a replacement strap size.
Design: sector dial, cow-horn lugs and careful finishing
A dial built around contrast
The Black Sector’s dial pairs a black base with silver printed tracks and scales. Applied Breguet-style numerals mark 3, 6, 9 and 12, while leaf-shaped hands indicate the hours and minutes and a central hand tracks the seconds. Two rows of minute hashes were intended to accommodate the different strap positions, according to Time+Tide’s launch coverage. The visual effect is detailed but orderly: the sector divisions give the dial structure, while the applied numerals provide its most prominent raised elements.

Case and lugs
The separately attached cow-horn-style lugs are a defining part of the watch’s profile. Fratello’s hands-on account describes contrasting brushed and polished surfaces, a brushed case band and perlage inside the case and caseback. Those finishing observations come from that publication’s reviewer, Thor Svaboe.
Movement decoration—and the closed caseback
The automatic movement is reported to have a tungsten rotor with palladium coating, engraving, Côtes de Genève and snailing. But those details are hidden behind the closed caseback; the watch does not offer a display window to show them on the wrist.

Time+Tide reported this explanation from Furlan Marri co-founder Andrea Furlan, in a WhatsApp reply: “We will have an open caseback later on in the permanent collection, but we wanted this initial special reference to be as thin as possible.” That comment explains the launch edition’s design choice, not the specifications or availability of later versions.
What was the 2116-A’s launch price?
During the June 2022 preorder phase, the listed price was CHF 1,250 excluding taxes, according to Monochrome Watches and Fratello. This is a historical launch price, not a current retail or resale valuation. The sources cited here do not establish today’s asking prices or what a particular used example is worth.

Was the Black Sector a limited edition?
Time+Tide’s June 15, 2022 launch coverage said the Black Sector was exclusive to the preorder phase and “will not be produced again.” That is a statement about the 2116-A Black Sector at launch, not a current stock check. It does not establish whether a specific watch is for sale now, nor does it confirm the condition, provenance or price of any listing.
The wider Cornes de Vache collection continued after the Black Sector. Monochrome’s October 17, 2025 article reports that White Sector and Salmon Sector versions followed, and that a Blue Sector version was later added. Their existence does not mean the original Black Sector was reissued or that any of these watches are currently in stock.

What to check before buying a pre-owned example
Because the launch price and preorder status are historical, evaluate an individual listing on its own evidence rather than treating either as a current market benchmark. Ask the seller to verify:
- Reference and provenance: Confirm that the watch is the 2116-A Black Sector and request documentation that supports its origin.
- Condition: Inspect the case, crystal, dial, hands and movement service history; the launch specifications do not describe the condition of any particular watch.
- Included straps and attachments: The launch package listed curved black and straight honey leather straps with quick-release tabs. Check what is actually included and verify compatibility before ordering replacements.
- Price and sale date: Compare the seller’s dated asking price with other documented examples; the CHF 1,250 figure was the 2022 preorder price excluding taxes, not a current valuation.
For fit, the published 37.5 mm diameter and 46 mm lug-to-lug give more useful context than diameter alone. The 10.5 mm thickness is also a relevant figure for a dress-oriented watch, but fit remains personal; Fratello’s favorable comments about comfort and proportions are the reviewer’s impressions, not a guarantee for every wrist.
