The G-SHOCK MOVE DW-H5600 pairs the familiar square G-SHOCK design with wrist heart-rate measurement, activity tracking and wellness features. It can log runs and track sleep, but it has no onboard GPS: for GPS-based distance correction, it relies on a paired smartphone. Its blood-oxygen feature is for general health maintenance, not diagnosis.
What does the DW-H5600 track?
Casio lists heart-rate measurement, step counting, activity logs, training analysis, sleep tracking, breathing exercises and blood-oxygen measurement. The watch uses LED light to detect changes in blood flow for wrist heart-rate readings, and an accelerometer to count steps. Casio attributes training analysis, sleep tracking and breathing exercises to Polar. Casio’s DW-H5600 product page describes the features.
Casio’s US specifications for the DW-H5600-7 list a wrist heart-rate measurement range of 30–220 beats per minute, a step display range of 0–99,999, and activity-log capacity for up to 100 runs with up to 200 laps each. These are published specifications, not independent tests of measurement accuracy. Casio’s DW-H5600-7 specifications.
Blood oxygen is a wellness feature
Casio says the blood-oxygen measurement function is not intended to diagnose illness or serve as a medical device; it is intended only for maintaining general health. Treat it as a wellness feature, not a substitute for clinical assessment.

How GPS and distance work
The DW-H5600 does not have onboard GPS. It uses its accelerometer for activity measurements and can use a paired smartphone’s GPS to correct distance. That means GPS-based distance correction depends on carrying a compatible phone and keeping it connected; the watch itself cannot record a GPS route independently. Casio’s G-SHOCK MOVE comparison chart lists GPS for the GBDH2000 but not the DW-H5600.
Charging and stated battery life
The watch charges through a dedicated USB cable, with solar charging assistance. Casio says solar charging can support the time display when the battery is low; it does not remove the need to charge for use of the watch’s broader functions. The listed operating duration depends on use and environment.

Casio’s US specifications give approximate figures of up to 35 hours when using activity functions with heart rate, about one month in watch mode with heart-rate measurement off, and about 11 months with power saving on. Casio states these figures are based on a full charge without solar power and that actual duration varies with the usage environment. They are manufacturer estimates, not independently measured battery results. Casio’s DW-H5600-7 specifications.
Size, weight and water-resistance rating
Casio lists the DW-H5600 at 51.1 × 44.5 × 16.6 mm and 59 g in its MOVE comparison chart. The DW-H5600-7 US specifications list 20-bar water resistance. These are published specifications; the rating alone does not establish suitability for every water activity or circumstance.

Who is the DW-H5600 best suited to?
- Consider it if you want a square G-SHOCK with wrist heart-rate measurement, step and activity tracking, sleep and breathing features, and run logs.
- Factor in phone GPS if distance correction matters to you: this model uses a paired phone rather than onboard GPS.
- Plan for USB charging if you expect to use training and smart functions regularly; solar assistance is not a replacement for charging those features.
- Keep health readings in perspective: Casio describes blood-oxygen measurement as general-health use only, and its product specifications do not establish comparative accuracy against other watches.
For a model-to-model comparison, Casio’s G-SHOCK MOVE comparison chart is useful for checking GPS availability, sensors and size. Regional specifications and availability may differ, so check the listing for the variant sold in your market.
