The G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-B1000 combines a reinforced, mud-resistant build with Tough Solar power, radio timekeeping, Bluetooth and a four-function sensor package. The trade-off is substantial size: Casio lists the GWG-B1000-1A4 at 58.7 × 52.1 × 16.2 mm and 114 g. This is a specification-led overview of Casio’s claims, not a report of independent wear or durability testing.
What is the G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-B1000?
The GWG-B1000 is an analogue-digital MUDMASTER in Casio’s Master of G line. Casio’s series page lists three variants: GWG-B1000-1A, GWG-B1000-1A4 and GWG-B1000-3A. Colors and detailing differ, and Casio notes that the visible carbon-fibre-reinforced resin pattern can vary from watch to watch. Check the exact model and regional listing when comparing availability. Casio GWG-B1000-1A4 specifications; GWG-B1000 series page
Casio introduced the series on September 28, 2023, describing it as a dust- and mud-resistant watch designed for sandy, dirty environments. That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent test conclusion. Casio’s launch announcement
How large and heavy is the GWG-B1000?
For the GWG-B1000-1A4, Casio publishes a case measurement of 58.7 × 52.1 × 16.2 mm and a weight of 114 g. Those are sizeable figures, so the watch’s wrist presence and heft are important considerations, especially if you prefer compact or low-profile watches. The figures apply to this specific variant; consult the individual specification page for another model rather than assuming its measurements are identical. Casio GWG-B1000-1A4 specifications

What is the case made of, and what resistance does Casio specify?
Casio describes a Carbon Core Guard structure built around carbon-fibre-reinforced resin, with stainless-steel exterior protection. The bezel ring, upper and lower bezel guards, and front button guard are stainless steel; side button guards use carbon-fibre-reinforced resin. Casio says the surfaces receive a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating for abrasion resistance. It also specifies cylindrical stainless-steel button protectors, gasket fittings on the button shafts, a screw-lock crown and αGEL on the module sides and underside for vibration resistance. These are descriptions of construction and intended protection, not independently verified durability outcomes.
The GWG-B1000-1A4 specification lists shock resistance, vibration resistance, mud resistance and 200-metre water resistance. It also names sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a screw-lock crown, and bio-based resin in the band and some case and bezel components. Water resistance is not a blanket guarantee for every water activity: check the watch’s manual and care guidance for activity-specific limits. What do the sensors measure?
The Triple Sensor functions provide a digital compass, barometer, altimeter and thermometer. Casio publishes the following ranges and details for the GWG-B1000-1A4:
| Function | Published specification |
|---|---|
| Digital compass | 16 directions; 0–359° |
| Barometer | 260–1,100 hPa |
| Altimeter | −700 to 10,000 m |
| Thermometer | −10 to 60°C; measures ambient temperature |
For the altimeter, readings are taken at one-second intervals for the first three minutes, then at a selected five-second or two-minute interval. Casio advises removing the watch from the wrist for temperature measurement to limit body-heat interference. These are operating specifications; they do not establish real-world accuracy under a particular set of conditions. Casio GWG-B1000-1A4 specifications; GWG-B1000 series page

How do solar, radio timekeeping and Bluetooth work together?
Tough Solar supplies power, while Multiband 6 radio reception and Bluetooth-linked smartphone time adjustment provide ways to keep the displayed time aligned. Casio lists automatic time adjustment, world time, watch settings, mode customization and phone finder among the functions available through the CASIO WATCHES app. The series page also lists automatic altitude correction, Location Memory, Location Indicator and Mission Log. Which features depend on the phone?
The watch’s sensors and radio timekeeping are distinct from phone-assisted mapping and activity functions. Mission Log combines altitude measured by the watch with a course obtained from smartphone GPS. Location Indicator points toward a location saved or manually set in the app; Casio says manual map-point setting is unavailable in China. The documented course feature uses phone GPS data, so the GWG-B1000 should not be treated as a standalone GPS navigator. Casio also cautions that GPS information may contain errors, meaning automatic altitude correction may not match actual altitude. GWG-B1000 series page; Casio’s launch announcement

What should you weigh before buying?
- Fit and heft: Use the 1A4’s published case dimensions and weight as a starting point, and check the exact variant’s specifications.
- Protection versus proof: Casio specifies multiple resistance features and protective construction, but these specifications are not independent long-term durability results.
- Sensor use: The instrument ranges and reading cadence may help determine whether the watch’s compass, pressure and altitude functions fit your needs; they are not a substitute for verified field-accuracy data.
- Phone dependence: Check whether Mission Log and app-based location features suit your use, and note the China limitation for manual map-point setting.
- Variant details: Confirm local model availability and appearance; the carbon-fibre pattern can vary between individual watches.
Casio’s official specifications do not establish measured accuracy, actual battery duration, independently verified comfort or long-term durability results. The product page and launch material are useful for understanding what the manufacturer specifies, but they cannot answer those testing questions.
