It is Casio’s GWB5600GZ-1, a G-Shock collaboration with Gorillaz. Casio describes the model as limited edition and says its color scheme takes inspiration from the hues of The Now Now. The product page is the source for the model identification and design description: Casio GWB5600GZ-1.
What connects the watch to The Now Now?
The link is both the design palette and a small display detail: Casio says the watch’s colors were inspired by the album, and that the display shows “NOW” when the backlight is illuminated. Warner Records announced The Now Now on May 31, 2018, for release on June 29, 2018. The label described it as 11 new songs, available on CD, vinyl, digital services and in a deluxe vinyl LP box set. Is it Gorillaz’s latest collaboration, or a new release?
The official product page’s description refers to The Now Now as the band’s “latest” album, but that wording reflects the collaboration’s historical context, not its status today. Warner Records dated the album announcement to 2018. The official Gorillaz website currently features The Mountain as out now and retains The Now Now in its catalog: Gorillaz official website. These sources do not verify that the GWB5600GZ-1 has just launched or that it is the band’s latest collaboration overall.
