On July 9, 2025, it announced Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, alongside a refreshed Galaxy Watch Ultra. The Ultra was already an announced product—not a device still awaiting its reveal. Samsung said general availability began July 25, 2025, and listed a U.S. launch price of $649.99. Those dates and price describe the 2025 launch, not current availability or pricing.
What was the Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra leak?
There was no official “Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra” in Samsung’s 2025 lineup. The name blends two separate products: the Galaxy Watch8 family and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Samsung’s July 9, 2025 U.S. announcement introduced the Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, and separately presented a refreshed Ultra. By October 2026, “what to expect” is a historical framing: Samsung has already announced the 2025 Ultra, so old leak claims should not be treated as upcoming specifications.
What did Samsung announce for the 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra?
Samsung positioned the Galaxy Watch Ultra for outdoor adventures, in contrast to the Galaxy Watch8’s everyday-wellness positioning. For the Ultra, Samsung announced 64 GB of storage and four titanium finishes, including the new Titanium Blue. Its stated U.S. starting price was $649.99 at launch; it is not a verified current offer.
Samsung also announced One UI 8 Watch availability for the Ultra. In a July 22, 2025 global update announcement, it highlighted Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index. Samsung noted that feature availability may vary by market and device, so the announcement should not be read as a guarantee that every user or Ultra configuration has identical access.

Which specifications belong to Galaxy Watch8, not the Ultra?
Some figures in Samsung’s launch coverage refer specifically to the Galaxy Watch8 series, not the Ultra. Samsung said the Watch8 design was 11% thinner than previous Galaxy Watches and that the Watch8 series reached 3,000 nits peak brightness. Those figures should not be carried over as Ultra specifications.
Likewise, Samsung’s displayed 5ATM, IP68, and MIL-STD-810H specifications table is for Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic. It is not evidence for the Ultra’s ratings. The launch announcements support a useful distinction in model identity and positioning, but not a complete current comparison of battery life, durability, or retail availability.

What should you know about the Ultra’s health features?
Samsung describes features such as Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index as wellness and fitness tools, not medical diagnostics. Its launch information says health data is not intended to detect, diagnose, treat, monitor, or manage disease. Samsung’s sleep-apnea note describes risk assessment, not a standalone diagnosis or a replacement for traditional diagnostic methods. Treat measurements as informational and consult a qualified health professional about medical concerns.

Use “Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025)” when identifying the product; “Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra” is a mistaken combination of Samsung’s names. The official 2025 facts establish the Ultra’s launch positioning, 64 GB storage, titanium finishes, announced software features, and launch price. They do not establish today’s price or stock, so check a current listing for your region and confirm that its model matches the 2025 Ultra before buying.
