Yes. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic received the One UI 6 Watch update based on Wear OS 5. Samsung announced the broader U.S. rollout on November 19, 2024, with Watch6-series firmware records appearing later that month. However, One UI 6 Watch is no longer the latest software generation for these watches: Samsung’s update history shows later Watch6 firmware based on Wear OS 6.

Samsung’s model-specific update records list these One UI 6 Watch entries:
| Watch | Model record | Build | Listed date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Watch6 | SM-R935F | R935FXXU1BXJ5 |
November 28, 2024 |
| Galaxy Watch6 Classic | SM-R960 | R960XXU1BXJ5 |
November 26, 2024 |
Those dates belong to specific model records and should not be treated as a single nationwide release date for every U.S. Bluetooth or LTE watch. Samsung warns that availability can vary by country, model, carrier, service provider, and paired smartphone. Carrier-sold LTE watches may therefore receive a build later than an unlocked or Bluetooth model.

What is One UI 6 Watch?
One UI 6 Watch is Samsung’s interface and feature layer for its smartwatches. On the Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic, it is based on Wear OS 5. It is separate from the One UI 6 update for Samsung Galaxy phones, so updating the phone does not automatically mean the watch has received the corresponding watch software.
What changed on the Galaxy Watch6?
Health and sleep tracking
- Energy Score: Combines supported metrics such as sleep, activity, sleeping heart rate, and heart-rate variability into a wellness-oriented daily score.
- Expanded sleep analysis: Adds or emphasizes information including movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate.
- Personalized recommendations: Provides Galaxy AI-generated guidance based on supported health data and compatible hardware and software.
- Sleep Apnea availability: Samsung expanded the FDA-authorized feature to a wider range of watches, subject to device, phone, age, country, and regulatory limitations.
These features are intended for general wellness and fitness. Energy Score and sleep insights are not medical diagnoses. Samsung says Sleep Apnea is not a replacement for professional diagnosis or treatment.

- Race: Compares current and previous outdoor running or outdoor cycling performance.
- Workout Routine: Lets you combine exercises into customized routines.
- More detailed targets: Routines can include sets, repetitions, duration, and rest breaks.
Race is not a universal comparison tool. Samsung’s conditions require the same pre-generated route or starting location for supported comparisons.
Watch faces and interface changes
The update adds watch faces such as Spatial Number, Simple Digital, and Ultra Info Board. It also refreshes buttons, toggles, tiles, the default font, and watch-face discovery. Featured and searchable watch-face browsing makes it easier to find alternatives without manually searching through every option.

Double Pinch lets you perform actions such as answering calls, dismissing alarms, controlling music, scrolling through notifications, and taking photos. It is disabled by default. Certain connected-phone controls require a compatible Galaxy smartphone running One UI 6.1.1 or later.
AI Suggested Replies also require a compatible Galaxy phone and supported software. On compatible phones, Modes can control additional watch settings, including Always On Display, raise-to-wake, sound mode, and disconnection alerts.

Which Galaxy Watch models were eligible?
Samsung listed the following watch families for One UI 6 Watch:
- Galaxy Watch6
- Galaxy Watch6 Classic
- Galaxy Watch5
- Galaxy Watch5 Pro
- Galaxy Watch4
- Galaxy Watch4 Classic
- Galaxy Watch FE
The Watch6 series was scheduled first, followed by previous supported generations. Eligibility did not guarantee simultaneous availability. Bluetooth and LTE versions can use different firmware, imported models may follow another region’s schedule, and carrier certification can delay LTE releases. Exact features can also vary by model, country, service provider, and paired phone. Samsung’s One UI 6 Watch support overview contains the broader device list and installation guidance.
How to install the update
Using Galaxy Wearable
- Pair the watch with your phone.
- Open Galaxy Wearable.
- Tap Watch settings.
- Select Watch software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Keep the watch near the phone and follow the on-screen instructions.
Using the watch
- Open Settings on the watch.
- Swipe up.
- Tap Software update.
- Select Download and install.
The watch still needs to be paired with a compatible smartphone for this method. Before starting, charge the watch, use a stable Wi-Fi connection where possible, keep the devices close together, and do not interrupt installation. Sync important health data through Samsung Health and make sure Galaxy Wearable and the watch plug-in are current.

- Larger Super AMOLED Display: Expanded screen area with slimmer bezels for improved visibility and usability.
How to check whether One UI 6 Watch installed
In Galaxy Wearable or on the watch, check the software version, Wear OS version, build number, and security patch level. Wear OS 5 confirms the relevant platform generation, but the build number will not necessarily match Samsung’s records above because firmware differs by model, country, carrier, and region.

The cited records identify R935FXXU1BXJ5 for SM-R935F and R960XXU1BXJ5 for SM-R960. They are reference points, not mandatory build numbers for every U.S. Watch6.
What to do if no update appears
- Check the watch’s exact model number and current software version.
- Update Galaxy Wearable and its watch plug-in.
- Restart both the phone and watch.
- Return to Galaxy Wearable > Watch settings > Watch software update.
- Try Settings > Software update > Download and install on the watch.
- If it is a carrier-branded LTE model, check the carrier’s software-update information.
“No update available” may simply mean the watch already has a later release. Other explanations include a regional model, carrier approval delay, outdated pairing software, staged distribution, low battery, or insufficient storage. Do not sideload firmware intended for an unrelated regional model.

Installing One UI 6 Watch does not guarantee that every advertised feature appears on every configuration. Availability can depend on:
- The paired Galaxy phone model.
- Android and One UI versions.
- A Samsung account.
- Samsung Health version.
- Country or carrier.
- Watch model and Bluetooth or LTE configuration.
For example, Energy Score requires compatible Galaxy AI hardware and software, Samsung Health, and a Samsung account. Suggested Replies and some phone-control functions require a compatible Galaxy phone. Double Pinch must be enabled manually. Sleep Apnea has additional regulatory and device requirements.

Is One UI 6 Watch still the latest Galaxy Watch6 software?
No. As of August 18, 2026, One UI 6 Watch and Wear OS 5 are an older software generation. Samsung’s update histories for the cited Watch6 models include later firmware based on Wear OS 6, with entries dated from September 2025 through July 2026.
That means a Watch6 owner should install the newest update offered for the exact watch rather than try to locate the historical One UI 6 Watch package specifically. One UI 6 Watch remains useful as the name of the major 2024 upgrade, but it is not the current endpoint.
Should you replace a Galaxy Watch6?
For existing owners, One UI 6 Watch is a reason to keep using the Watch6 rather than replace it immediately. It adds newer health, fitness, gesture, interface, and phone-integration features without changing the watch into a newer hardware generation.
For a purchase in 2026, the Watch6 is an older, discontinued generation. Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP document marked the Galaxy Watch6 40mm Bluetooth model as EOL with a listed MSRP of $299.99; that document is not a guarantee of current inventory or street pricing.

If prices are close, compare newer models instead: Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP list showed Galaxy Watch7 Bluetooth models from $249.99, LTE models from $299.99, and Galaxy Watch8 Bluetooth models from $349.99. These are historical MSRP signals, not guaranteed August 2026 sale prices. The Galaxy Watch7 is the newer-value option, while the Galaxy Watch8 is the more current mainstream choice. Verify LTE carrier compatibility and service costs separately.
Do not buy a newer watch solely to obtain One UI 6 Watch features: Samsung extended that feature generation to the Watch6. Choose newer hardware for longer-term support, performance, battery, or current-generation features instead.
