Samsung’s Galaxy Watch7 and first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra began receiving a US update in June 2026 with the May 2026 security patch. It is a security and maintenance release, not a major One UI Watch or Wear OS feature upgrade. Some models have since received July firmware, so the June build is no longer the newest documented version for every device.
June 2026 US update: confirmed builds
The June rollout was reported for US carrier models, including Verizon LTE watches. These are model-specific builds, not universal version numbers for every Watch7 or Ultra.
| Watch | Variant and market | Build | Security patch | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Watch7 40mm | LTE, US Verizon | L305USQS3BZE1 |
May 2026 | Reported in June 2026 |
| Galaxy Watch7 44mm | LTE, US Verizon | L315USQS3BZE1 |
May 2026 | Reported in June 2026 |
| Galaxy Watch Ultra (first generation) | US Verizon | L705USQS3BZE1 |
May 2026 | June 12, 2026 |
Droid Life reported the Watch7 and Ultra builds in its June 12 US rollout coverage. Verizon’s official Ultra update history confirms the June build and date. The available build list does not confirm the June LTE builds for every carrier, unlocked device, or Bluetooth model.
What the June update changes
The principal change is the May 2026 security patch. The release was characterized as security-focused, with no major user-facing features reported. SamMobile says the May patch addressed 36 security issues; that count is its reporting, rather than a figure established here as a Samsung changelog total. Routine reliability changes may vary by device and carrier, but no specific battery, GPS, sensor, or performance fix is confirmed for these June builds.

This is not a new Wear OS generation, nor should it be confused with the earlier One UI 8 Watch upgrade. Samsung’s Watch7 firmware history lists One UI 8 features such as Now Bar, double-pinch gestures, Running Coach, Bedtime Guidance, Mindfulness, charging effects, enhanced notifications, custom tiles, and app-screen personalization under that separate upgrade—not the June security patch. See Samsung’s Watch7 firmware history.
Latest documented firmware as of August 16, 2026
The June build has been superseded on at least some models. Verizon lists a July 9, 2026 Ultra update, L705USQS3BZF4, with the July 2026 security patch. Samsung’s firmware page for the Bluetooth Watch7 model SM-L300 lists build L300XXS2BZF4, released July 6 with the July 5, 2026 security patch. That page also lists the earlier L300XXS2BZE1 May-patch build, released June 11.

Those records do not establish the latest August 2026 build for every US Watch7 size, LTE or Bluetooth variant, or carrier. Samsung notes that updates and changes can differ by model, country, and service provider. Check the model and installed patch level on your own watch rather than treating one build as a universal target.
How to check and install the update
On the watch
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install, then let the watch check for firmware.
- If an update is offered, download it and keep the watch on its charger during installation. Wait for it to restart and finish.
In Galaxy Wearable
- Open Galaxy Wearable on the Android phone paired with the watch.
- Select the watch, then open Watch settings.
- Tap Watch software update and choose Download and install.
Samsung and carrier menu wording can change with app versions. Verizon recommends using Wi-Fi or a strong Verizon connection and having the watch fully charged or connected to its charger. Keep the phone and watch connected during the process; allow time for watch apps to update afterward.

How to tell whether your build is behind
Open Settings > About watch to identify the model, then check the software version and security patch level. Compare like with like: an LTE model, Bluetooth model, case size, region, or carrier may use a different build string. A July security date on a documented model is newer than the June May-patch release, but the cited records do not provide a definitive current build for every US SKU.
If the update does not appear or fails
A missing update does not by itself mean the watch is unsupported. Rollouts can be staged, and carrier approval, model, connectivity type, or imported-region configuration can affect availability. A watch already on newer July firmware will not offer the June build.

- Confirm the model under Settings > About watch and note the software version and patch date.
- Restart the watch and paired phone, update Galaxy Wearable from the Play Store or Galaxy Store, then check again in the app and directly on the watch.
- For a failed download, use stable Wi-Fi, keep Bluetooth enabled, place the watch on its charger, check that the phone has free storage, and retry after restarting both devices.
- If an LTE watch remains behind a build published for its carrier, contact that carrier. Avoid an immediate factory reset; a staged rollout or carrier delay is a more likely explanation than a pairing fault.
An imported watch may follow its original model and carrier configuration rather than US firmware simply because it is being used in the United States.

The watch can restart during installation, and the interface may look unchanged because this release is primarily a security update. Galaxy Wearable or individual watch apps may offer separate updates afterward. Do not assume a change in battery life proves that this firmware caused or fixed a problem: Android Central noted battery-drain reports involving Google Play Services on some Galaxy Watch models, but did not establish the June patch as a remedy. See its coverage of the mid-June update.
