That event, which coverage calls Prime Big Deal Days (often shortened to “Prime Day”), ran October 6–7, 2026. A deal tracker’s check on October 8 said the sale had ended. Treat $529.99 as a dated price, not a current one, and confirm the live listing before you buy.
What the reported deal covers
Two dated reports describe the same offer. Neither is a live Amazon check, so they establish what was advertised at the time, not what is on sale today.
- SeattlePI (Hearst), October 7, 2026: the Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire, 47 mm, at $529.99, down from $999.99, a stated saving of $470.
- The5krunner, October 8, 2026: a US Amazon price of $529.99 and a 47% discount. The page gives its final price check as 12:09 UK time and says October Prime Big Deal Days had ended.
The two figures agree: $529.99 against $999.99 is a 47% reduction. The reports refer to one specific product, so the price should not be carried over to any other size, finish or regional store.
Whether the price is still available
Nothing in the reporting shows the offer is live at the time you read this. Before you act on the $529.99 figure, check the listing yourself:

- Open the Amazon product page for the Garmin epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire and select the 47 mm size. Confirm the finish is the sapphire-lens, titanium-bezel model described in the reports.
- Compare the price shown on the product page with $529.99. Look for a list price and a discount label; if neither appears, the reported offer is not visible.
- Check the seller and stock status. The reports do not name the Amazon seller or confirm available inventory.
- If you shop from another country, check that country’s Amazon site. The tracker’s regional prices and discounts differ, so the US figure does not apply elsewhere.
Size and model: why the 47 mm matters
The reported price applies only to the 47 mm Sapphire. The coverage does not state prices for the 42 mm or 51 mm versions, so a deal on one size says nothing about the others. Case size also changes battery life, as the table below shows.
Battery life by case size
Garmin’s owner’s manual for the epix (Gen 2) Standard/Pro Series gives smartwatch battery estimates for each case size, in two display modes:
Rank #2

| Case size | Smartwatch battery, wrist gesture (up to) | Smartwatch battery, always-on display (up to) | Price in the October 2026 reports |
|---|---|---|---|
| 42 mm | 10 days | 4 days | Not stated |
| 47 mm (Sapphire) | 16 days | 6 days | $529.99 (from $999.99), per SeattlePI and The5krunner |
| 51 mm | 31 days | 11 days | Not stated |
These are upper limits from Garmin’s manual. Garmin states that actual battery life depends on which features are enabled, so heavy GPS use, music or frequent always-on display will shorten the figures.
Features described in the reports
The SeattlePI report describes the 47 mm Sapphire with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display, a sapphire lens, a titanium bezel, multi-band GPS and preloaded topographic maps. It lists activity tracking for running, cycling, hiking, swimming and skiing, along with hill score and endurance score. These are product descriptions as reported, not results from independent testing.

- Battery: built-in and rechargeable, per the same manual. It cannot be swapped by the owner.
Bands and accessories
Garmin’s manual directs owners to its shop or an authorised Garmin dealer for optional accessories and replacement parts. The manual does not name a compatible third-party band for this model. Before buying a band, match it to the exact 47 mm case and confirm compatibility with the seller.
Earlier price context
NBC Select’s June 2026 roundup listed an Epix Pro Sapphire at $499.99, down from $999.99. The size is not stated in that coverage. It is an earlier snapshot and not a guide to current pricing.

Choosing between sizes before you buy
- Fit: the 47 mm case is the size covered by the reported deal; check it against your wrist before ordering.
- Battery needs: compare the table above with how you use the watch, especially if you rely on always-on display.
- Mapping and training: the topographic maps and multi-band GPS are the reported features most relevant to outdoor use. Confirm they match your activities.
- Price: judge the offer by the live listing, not by the saving quoted in the October articles.
Once you have confirmed the live price, size and seller, the reported 47 mm Sapphire deal is worth checking against your own needs, because the price drop and features are the core reasons it was reported.
