The current steel reference examined here, 1-65-01-26-12-71, measures 40 mm across and 11.70 mm high, with a stated 42-hour reserve. Those figures—and the price, dial and strap—are reference-specific, so identify the exact version before comparing listings.
What makes the PanoReserve distinctive?
The defining feature is the Pano layout: rather than placing the date in a conventional window at three o’clock, the watch uses Glashütte Original’s Panorama Date, paired with small seconds and a reserve indicator. The result puts several useful displays on the dial without making the watch a conventional three-hand dress watch.

The right-side power-reserve display is functional, not merely decorative. It gives the wearer a visual indication of how much energy remains in the mainspring, while the large date and small seconds provide the other principal indications beyond hours and minutes.
How the power-reserve display works
The indicator tracks energy remaining in the spring barrel. On the dial, AUF means fully wound; as the hand moves toward AB, the remaining reserve is declining. Glashütte Original specifies 42 hours when fully wound. That is the stated reserve, not a guarantee that every watch will run for precisely that duration under all conditions.
#1 Best Overall
- power reserve of 40 hours.
- Light Blue dial
- Glashutte Caliber 39-34
- Domed dial with a very fine sun-ray finish & a gradient dark to lighter glacier blue effect.
Because the PanoReserve is manual-winding, the display also helps answer a practical question: whether the watch is approaching the point when it needs winding. The cited Calibre 65-01 runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz.
Specifications: reference 1-65-01-26-12-71
The principal specification set below belongs to the blue-dial stainless-steel bracelet reference on Glashütte Original’s official product page. Other PanoReserve references differ in material, dial and strap or bracelet configuration.
| Specification | Steel reference 1-65-01-26-12-71 |
|---|---|
| Case | Stainless steel, polished and satin-brushed |
| Diameter | 40 mm |
| Height | 11.70 mm |
| Water resistance | 5 bar |
| Dial | Blue coated fine-matt, with applied indexes and printed scales |
| Displays | Hours and minutes, small seconds, Panorama Date and power reserve |
| Movement | Calibre 65-01, manual winding |
| Power reserve | 42 hours, as stated by Glashütte Original |
| Frequency | 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) |
| Bracelet end-link width | 20 mm |
Specifications are from the official product page for reference 1-65-01-26-12-71. A 40 mm diameter alone cannot establish how the watch will fit: wrist shape, lug geometry and bracelet adjustment also matter, and those aspects are not assessed here through hands-on wear.

Calibre 65-01 and movement finishing
The movement is visible through a sapphire case back. Glashütte Original lists a three-quarter plate with stripe finish, a hand-engraved balance bridge and second cock, duplex swan-neck fine adjustment, bevelled edges, polished steel parts, screw-mounted gold chatons and blued screws. These finishing details give the mechanical movement a visual role as well as its timekeeping and reserve-display functions.

References, materials and configurations
The steel blue-dial bracelet model is only one PanoReserve configuration. Official listings also show steel variants with silver, blue or grey dials, and red-gold versions. A red-gold blue-dial variant, for example, is listed with an alligator-leather strap. The cited variants use Calibre 65-01 and list a 42-hour reserve, but one reference’s case or strap details should not be transferred to another.
For comparison across versions, verify the complete reference number, then compare the case material, dial, supplied strap or bracelet, and dimensions on that specific product page. The official PanoReserve collection page is the appropriate starting point for the brand’s listed variants.

How much does the PanoReserve cost?
There is no single price established for every PanoReserve. Glashütte Original presents pricing as available upon request. Retail listings observed for two different references showed the following prices; they are seller- and date-specific, not a universal or guaranteed current MSRP.
| Reference and configuration | Observed listed price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 1-65-01-26-12-71, steel bracelet | $13,400 | Tourneau/Bucherer listing |
| 1-65-01-04-15-61, 18k red gold | $28,300, excluding tax | Wempe listing |
These are different materials and references sold through different retailers, so the gap is not a controlled comparison of case material alone. Check the seller’s current listing for price, tax treatment and availability.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →What strap fits the PanoReserve?
Strap compatibility depends on the exact reference and attachment hardware. For the cited steel bracelet reference, the official page lists a 20 mm end-link width. The brand describes blue leather, blue synthetic-fabric and stainless-steel bracelet options across the steel design, and says additional straps and bracelets are offered individually. That does not establish that every generic 20 mm strap will fit: confirm the reference, attachment design and clasp before ordering.
Verdict
The PanoReserve’s appeal is the combination of an unmistakably asymmetric dial with a practical reserve display and a finished manual-winding movement. The steel reference offers a clearly documented 40 mm case, but price and configuration vary substantially by reference. This is a specification-based assessment: wrist comfort, winding feel, real-world legibility and observed timekeeping have not been tested.
