To recreate Hailey Bieber’s glazed donut nails, start with a sheer, milky-white base and add a fine pearly chrome powder. Nail artist Zola Ganzorigt created Bieber’s original 2022 Met Gala manicure with OPI Funny Bunny and Tin Man Can Glaze; her reported gel technique places a non-yellowing top coat under the powder, then seals the finish with another top-coat layer.
What makes the glazed donut nail look?
It is a sheer or milky neutral manicure with a soft, reflective pearly sheen. Chrome powder creates the glazed effect; it is not simply glitter polish or a sparkly top coat. The base shade can shift from milky white to sheer nude while the chrome finish remains the defining detail.

How the original Hailey Bieber manicure came about
Zola Ganzorigt created the manicure for Bieber at the 2022 Met Gala. OPI says Bieber wanted a natural, milky-white color, and Ganzorigt suggested adding chrome. Ask for a sheer milky-white or neutral base with a light silvery-white chrome powder finish. If you want the original color pairing, name OPI Funny Bunny and Tin Man Can Glaze. Bring a reference image if you have one, since “glazed” can mean different levels of opacity and shine. For a softer, less-white result, ask for a sheer nude base instead.

How to recreate it with the original gel recipe
The original OPI combination is GelColor Funny Bunny with Tin Man Can Glaze. Ganzorigt’s reported method uses the following layers:
- Apply one coat of off-white Funny Bunny gel color.
- Apply OPI Stay Shiny Top Coat before the powder. Ganzorigt said she used it under the chrome because it does not turn yellow when cured.
- Rub in Tin Man Can titanium-and-graphite chrome powder.
- Apply another layer of shiny top coat to seal the finish.
OPI’s current Tin Man Can Glaze product directions say to lightly dip an applicator into the powder and rub it over the nail in circular motions. Follow the cure instructions for the specific compatible gel system you use; the cited directions do not establish one universal curing schedule.

Can you do the original technique with regular polish?
The cited sources describe a gel-based original recipe and do not establish a universal regular-polish version of Ganzorigt’s method. If you want a non-gel manicure, ask a nail professional about a compatible chrome-powder system rather than assuming gel-layer timing or curing instructions will transfer to regular polish.
