What Google has confirmed about Fitbit Air
Google introduced Fitbit Air on May 7, 2026 as a screenless tracker. Its launch announcement says it can automatically detect and track common activities, then send a recap; users can also start workouts in the app or log them manually. The announcement does not give a count of supported workout types. Fitbit Air works with Android and iOS, according to Google’s launch materials.
Google lists heart-rate tracking, heart-rhythm monitoring with Afib alerts, SpO2, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, and sleep stages and duration among the tracker’s health features. It said certified accessories may receive a Made for Google badge and invited makers to contact Google about certification. Public design information makes third-party accessory development possible; it does not establish that a particular band is compatible or certified. When evaluating a band, check the seller’s explicit Fitbit Air compatibility claim, wrist sizing, material and care instructions, intended use, and evidence for any certification badge.
