They showed a familiar rounded design, new color options and a charging change. Google had not released those images itself; its later product pages confirmed several of the details, including the two sizes and a new Quick Charge Dock.
What the Pixel Watch 4 leak showed
Android Headlines presented the images as official renders, but they were leaked images published by the outlet—not an announcement or image release from Google. The report showed the watch in both sizes and described a largely unchanged exterior. It also reported new case and band colors and a redesigned charging arrangement. The renders did not establish every hardware detail or independently verify the images’ provenance.
The report predicted that Google would announce the watch at its August 20, 2025 Made by Google event, with preorders opening after the event and shipping expected around August 28. Those dates are historical, not upcoming launch information.
A familiar shape, with color changes
The renders depicted the rounded, pebble-like case and domed circular display associated with earlier Pixel Watches. The overall silhouette looked close to the Pixel Watch 3 rather than like a major redesign. Google’s later product presentation retained that rounded design language.

#1 Best Overall

- See it all and do the most with the Actua 360 domed display; it’s 10% larger and 50% brighter than Pixel Watch 3, and as durable as ever with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass[1]
- The Google Pixel Watch 4 has Gemini built in[4]; just ask questions and your ultra capable AI assistant will deliver quick responses for personalized help; and stay connected when you’re texting with AI-powered quick replies that are hyper-relevant[5,6]
- Get up to 30 hours of battery life or up to 48 hours in Battery Saver mode[3]; plus, the new side charging dock gives you 15 hours of battery in 15 minutes or less[7]

The proprietary band attachment remained part of the look. It is not a standard watch-band lug, so owners should not assume ordinary third-party bands—or bands from another Pixel Watch generation—will fit. Check compatibility for the exact watch and band before buying.
Colors reported in the leak
Android Headlines reported black, silver, gold and Moonstone case finishes, with bands in Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone, Indigo, Limoncello and Iris. Those were the report’s names, not necessarily Google’s final retail naming.

Google’s listed combinations
Google’s U.S. Store listings use combinations including Matte Black/Obsidian, Polished Silver/Porcelain or Iris, Champagne Gold/Lemongrass, and Satin Moonstone/Moonstone. Final names and availability can vary by market and listing. See Google’s U.S. Pixel Watch 4 listing.
What changed beyond the case
The most consequential change for existing owners is charging. Pixel Watch 4 uses a new Quick Charge Dock, designed for the 41mm and 45mm models. Google says it charges up to 25% faster than the Pixel Watch 2/3 USB-C fast-charging cable. That is Google’s comparison under its stated test conditions, not a guarantee that every charging session will be 25% faster.

- The new Google Pixel Watch 5 offers a smarter way to a healthier you.[1,2]; Designed for Gemini Intelligence, get proactive help, and personalized insights from Google Health[3,4]; watch is compatible with Android devices only; not compatible with iOS devices
- Precision-crafted to do it all: The Google Pixel Watch 5 features the domed Actua 360 display with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass and up to 40 hours of battery life[1,5]
- Metrics that matter: Advanced sensors help you stay ahead of your health and wellness; and Google Pixel’s most accurate heart rate tracking is fine-tuned for your activity[6,7]
- Understand your sleep like never before: Your watch captures insights like the time spent in sleep stages to breathing regularity, then summarizes it all in a personalized Sleep Score[8,9]
- Detects loss of pulse, then calls for help: Pixel Watch 5 is the only smartwatch to feature Loss of Pulse Detection, which can prompt a call to emergency services[10]
Google says the dock can provide a full day of charge in about 30 minutes. Its charging figures were measured on pre-production hardware and software in California in 2025; actual results vary with temperature, battery age, power adapter and device state. The separately sold dock connects by USB-C and requires a compatible adapter rated at least 7.5W, which is not included with the dock. The dock is specified for Pixel Watch 4, so owners upgrading from a Pixel Watch 2 or 3 should not expect their previous charger to work with the new watch. Google’s Quick Charge Dock details.

The product specifications below are Google’s published figures, not independent test results. Battery life is an estimate and can vary with use; charging times are approximate. Google’s published specifications are available on its Pixel Watch 4 specifications page.

Choosing between 41mm and 45mm
The 41mm is the lighter, more compact option, with a smaller battery and lower Google-rated endurance. The 45mm is heavier and larger, with a larger display and longer battery estimates. Wrist fit and comfort may matter more than the capacity difference; the larger model is not automatically the better choice for every wearer.
Google gives approximate Active Band wrist ranges of 130–175mm for the small and 165–210mm for the large band with the 41mm watch. For the 45mm, the listed ranges are 150–185mm and 165–215mm, respectively. Measure your wrist and check the included band’s sizing before ordering.
Google says the watch works with most phones running Android 11 or newer and requires a Google Account and the Pixel Watch app. Its compatibility listing does not indicate iPhone support. For LTE, check that your carrier supports the watch and review the plan requirements; a cellular watch configuration does not by itself establish that service is included.
Quick Recap

|---|---|
| 41mm and 45mm models | Confirmed in Google’s product listings. |
| Familiar rounded exterior | Consistent with Google’s official product presentation. |
| New case and band colors | Broadly borne out; Google’s final names and combinations take precedence over leaked names. |
| Wear OS 6 | Confirmed in Google’s specifications. |
| Larger batteries | Google lists 325mAh for 41mm and 455mAh for 45mm; those capacities alone do not establish real-world battery life. |

| August 20 announcement and shipping expected around August 28, 2025 | The report’s stated schedule; these dates have passed. |
What the renders could not tell buyers
- Real-world battery life: Google’s runtime figures are claims, not guaranteed results. Always-on display, LTE, GPS, sensors, notifications, brightness and app use can affect endurance.
- Repairability: The leak connected the charging change with improved repairability, but the renders do not establish a repair score or prove that servicing is easier.
- Regional feature access: ECG, SpO2-related functions, satellite SOS and other services can be limited by geography, regulatory approval, language, phone model or subscription status.
- Band and charger carryover: The proprietary attachment and new dock make it important to confirm accessory compatibility rather than assume older Pixel Watch accessories will transfer.
