The Grand Seiko SBGJ241 is a 700-piece Heritage Collection limited edition with a green textured dial and the high-beat GMT caliber 9S86. Its 40 mm steel case, 24-hour dual-time display and approximately 55-hour power reserve make it a compactly sized travel watch on paper, though its 14 mm thickness is worth considering. The design and wearing details below draw on a 2020 review; this is not a new physical inspection or wear test.
What the SBGJ241 is
Grand Seiko identifies the SBGJ241 as a Heritage Collection limited edition of 700 pieces. It pairs a stainless-steel case and bracelet with an automatic movement that can also be wound by hand. The defining features are its green vertically textured dial and a GMT hand for displaying a second time zone. Grand Seiko’s official SBGJ241 page lists the model and its specifications.

How the GMT works
The 24-hour hand gives the wearer a second-time-zone display. The official specification describes calendar-linked time-difference adjustment, while Time+Tide’s 2020 review explains the operation in more detail: the GMT hand can be adjusted across time zones, with the date correction linked to that adjustment, and the seconds hand continues to run while the GMT hand is set. Time+Tide’s SBGJ241 hands-on was published on 21 November 2020.

Dial, case and bracelet in the 2020 review
Zach Blass’s review describes a 44GS-format case with a mix of polished and satin-finished facets. He notes the green dial’s vertical texture and an inner 24-hour indicator divided into silver daylight and green evening halves. The article also comments on the bracelet’s finishing and screw-secured links. These are the reviewer’s published observations, rather than findings from a new inspection.
The official dimensions give a useful starting point for fit: 40.0 mm across, 46.2 mm lug-to-lug and 14.0 mm thick. Those measurements alone cannot establish how the watch will sit on an individual wrist; trying it on is the best way to assess its proportions and bracelet fit.

Price and availability
Price depends on market and date. Grand Seiko’s Singapore English product page displays SGD 9,400.00, a regional page listing that should not be treated as a universal current transaction price. Time+Tide listed AUD 9,950 when its review appeared in November 2020; that is historical publication-era pricing, not a current quote. Current stock, pricing in other markets and secondary-market value are not established here. Grand Seiko’s product page provides a “Search Stores” route for checking local retail availability.
Seasonal collection context
Grand Seiko’s 30 September 2019 press release describes four other Heritage Collection models—SBGA415, SBGA413, SBGH271 and SBGH273—in connection with Japan’s twenty-four sekki, or seasonal divisions. The release offers context for the brand’s use of seasonal themes, but it does not list the SBGJ241 or establish that the SBGJ241 shared that release’s specific seasonal concept. Grand Seiko’s 2019 release concerns those four models.
